The new road is amazing. I use to drive on the old road daily to go to work in SLC. It was a real hazard being two lanes and without shoulders. A couple of years ago I switched jobs and no longer needed to use the old road and it was a relief. With the new road most of the hazards are gone and if the worst happens at least one has some room to maneuver and avoid an accident.
Thank you UDOT for an excellent job!

It will just get filled up and clogged again.
Big Upgrade | 7:32 p.m. Oct. 15, 2009
This is a big improvement, especially on the Utah County side. It's still remarkable to me how Camp Williams, once so remote and isolated, is finding itself more and more in the middle of things. This road is nice for now, but these improvements will prove a necessity as both the Camp and the surrounding cities to grow in the next few years.

Still a dangerous road. | 4:26 a.m. Oct. 16, 2009
Have to agree this road needed some improverment but I do hope they have put in some reasonable speed limits, under 55, or there will be some serious accidents with the big deer population along it.

I don't think the deer have been taught to read signs yet pointing to the deer tunnel crossings. The commuters on cell phones and distracted are also oblivious to their surrounding, wildlife, vehicle control, and emergency stopping. Especially if they are new to the area. The road now looks very tempting to very high speed driving.

NSA growth | 10:22 a.m. Oct. 16, 2009
Wait until the NSA gets going on their huge data center, it'll render this road obsolete with the traffic it'll create.
Oh, I get it | 12:24 p.m. Oct. 16, 2009
So, it will clog again, huh? Maybe. Guess we should just stop building all roads then. Suppose we can all just walk. The logic is so compelling. Geesh.

Looking south toward Camp Williams is the S.R. 68 expansion between Bluffdale and Saratoga Springs. A ribbon-cutting was held Thursday to celebrate the road's completion.
