It's not really a recovery when the true, not spin- doctored, unemployment is closer to 15% and sales of many commodities are still falling. For example, Alcoa's positive quarterly report showed higher profit even though sales were down. So the market rallies!!! Get real. The treasury has admitted lying to the public last fall for the public good. No thinking man can really trust reports that spin good news out of bad for "our own good." We are truly in dangerous times...be wary.
Were among the highest in personal bankruptcy filings WAY before the economic downturn. I'm not sure that tying the high foreclosure rate to unemployment because of the economy is the reason in Utah.
Not to worry my fellow citizens, Obama and his 'little' spending problem has gotten us on the right track and we are not in a world of hurt as those rascally conservatives would have you believe.
It doesn't matter that you are no longer employed or that you lost your home, or even that your retirement savings has been severely depleted. We are on the right track and you should trust Obama. After all he is from Chicago and they seem to be doing fine; waiting in line for 'free money.'
This mess brought to you by the Decider GW Bush and the Republicans.
CNN is reporting today that the number of home foreclosure filings is the highest for a three-month period ever. Yes, ever. The state with the highest percentage is Nevada, where they love to gamble. One in 23 households has filed for foreclosure there. Many homeowners are just walking away before their home is taken out from under them. It's going to get worse before it gets better. Any sign of recovery is an illusion.
Ugly on Utah.
Anonymous loves to blame Republicans and, especially, GWB. While I'm ready to pile on with him, I'm also more than willing to pile onto Obama and the Democrats. This mess is bipartisan. The ultimate culprit is the Federal Reserve, who made all that funny money available for those exotic financial instruments and loans.
It would be insightful of the DesNews to give its readers some resources in dealing with foreclosure as part of its reporting as the liklihood that some of them are the very people their figures are representing is pretty high.
If you or someone you know is behind with your mortgage or struggling to stay current on payments, contact a HUD certified housing counseling agency and do not do business with anyone that requires an up-front payment before providing services.
HUD certified agencies in your area can be found online at HUD's website. This won't be posted if I include the url, so just Google HUD and choose the result that is the homepage for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Anonymous "This mess brought to you by the Decider GW Bush and the Republicans"??? No, not quite. Go read your history. Many have dirty hands. Clinton fueled the crisis by trying to make home ownership available to anyone, no matter what their income or qualifications for a loan.
