Not predicting any great and shocking upsets, but remember Aug. 18, 2009 when East had to go into overtime to beat a fourth-place Mountain View team, 2-1 in overtime. Granted, it would be an earth-shaking upset if the Bruins were able to pull a repeat of an overtime or win over the Leopards. Just wondering.... Don't count the Bruins out quite yet!

I am sure there will be an upset in the 4A and I do not think that it will come where people expect. I hope to respond from 2nd round with some shocking news.

I predict that Region 1 will go 4-1 and Region 4 will go 4-0. Region 2-3 will all be one and done. The final four will be Davis vs. Brighton, Alta vs. Fremont and the championship Alta vs. Davis. Lets see some other predictions.

Has anyone ever been to East High's field? Well those of you that have or have not it's a terrible field that is short and has a high middle. East is the only one that is used to playing on such a field. My guess is that half of the games they have won is due to them being very capale of playing on such a crazy field and no other school is used to it. Grantid they also one their away games, I don't doubt they are a great team however, nonone with a fair advantage should ever have to play on that field at East High school! I think any game played in the playoffs should not be at this field. It is terrible!

The coin toss tonight between Bonneville and East is very likely what will decide the 4-A championship. Its a shame that a state title will be decided by the flip of a coin. Nice job to the UHSAA bozos.

Region 1 will go 3-2 with Syracuse and Viewmont losing. Region 2 will go 1-3 with only Skyline winning. Region 3 will all lose in the first round. Region 4 will go 4-0. Final 4 will be Davis vs Brighton and Alta vs Fremont.

I honestly believe here the UHSAA is getting ripped for no reason. With the number of 4A teams in the state there really isn't that much they could have done with the brackets. They will alternate next year, they really have no idea in any year who will be the strong teams. It just happens this year Bonneville and East will probably meet in the second round.
I'm predicting right now Sky View wins the 4A title.

The reason they are getting ripped is because they downshifted Region 5. Region 5 gets no true "No. 1" seed in this bracket. All of the Region 5 teams are basically seeded one lower than they should be. The argument is that it should've been the split region 9 or the new region 8 that was denied a true no. 1 seed. When was the last time that the teams in the top of Region 5 or Region 6 didn't win state? Its just a hatchet job and a reason why the stupid cookie-cutter bracket templates don't work. These tournaments should be about the players, not making some stupid number or template line up.

How can a coin toss decide a championship? Oh wait, the games still have to be played. In order to be state champs you have to beat any team and any where. I am calling it now and laugh in my face if you want to but neither East nor Bonneville will life the 4A title in the end.

So the story starts East is the favorite to win 4A? By who dude? Only East. Are you saying the Deseret News favors East to win? Real cool way to be so biasased. I don't know of anyone but East who would be saying that. Sure while they have been undefeted this season you can only say they will win State after they have gone thru some tougher teams!

They have some of the top club talent in the state feeding into the school and $$$.

But they still have to win three games. Any team can get hot and win in this format.

But I still think its East's year!

Some of the best club talent in the state? How many state cups? I know our girls have only won 4 of 5 state cup championships, without ab East player (how did we do that?)...I guess we dont know club or prep soccer! You're full of gas!! in 3A I would watch out for Canyon view, they might not be known very well, but with the best player Alison Freire getting healthy and being able to control the offense I would watch out, she is one of the best all around players in the state. I have watched a lot of soccer and she is quite smart out the, and demands a lot from her team mates. what every happens these playoffs are going to be great!
