A great coach and a great man! Thank goodness he was educated at BYU!
Yep..... | 9:55 a.m. Oct. 13, 2009
Yep.....and he thought so much of that institution and the education that it provides that he didn't want to go back when he had the chance.

Thank goodness for logic, which is what kept him here at the U!!!

Educated well enough to turn down the coaching job there. I am sure he didn't want to be around the hypocritical bigots and childish clones that Utah County is noted for during his coaching tenure. He chose Utah and is living the good life without kow-towing to Holmoe and conducting firesides.
His education payed off and he made the smart decision. He probably had seen enough to get away.

Why do you finish a nice compliment about Coach Whit with an idiotic comment? Fact is both schools offer fantastic educational opportunities. This kind of immaturity only feeds the mistaken perception that all BYU fans are arrogant and "holier than thou" types. It does everyone a disservice.

As a BYU fan .... very pleased Utes are back in the rankings. Nice job and best wishes to continue the climb....for all MWC schools.

Well aren't they ? If you read enough of the comments from the Utah sports articles you'll see I'm not that far off base.
Coach Kyle is not only a great person that cares about the community and his players but is also reining National Coach of the year in 2 of the three polls . The other poll had Rick Saban from Alabama, who was out coached in the Sugar Bowl by Whittingham.
Snide remarks about him from the blue bloods are not that uncommon, in fact it is the norm.
Maybe if you quit calling other peoples posts idiotic you would not be proving my point. Name calling is expected when a comment is written by a BYU supporter.

I see far more name calling and childish posts from Utah fans. Check any article about BYU and you'll see about half the comments come from Utah fans who often don't even read the complete headline before starting their childish name calling.

Rick Saban????? Nick Saban!

You gotta love Coach Whit. What a great way to handle that question.

I don't know if that first commment was written by a cougar fan or not but what a stupid thing to say !
When the coaching job was open at BYU I sure wanted coach Witt to come to BYU. I think Bronco is a work in progress and right now I give coach Witt the edge over Bronco. Please arrogant cougar fans, don't prove the "Haters" right.

PS: Kyle Wittingham is a major studd ! What a great coach. Go Utes and we will see you in November.

As every Utah fan knows, that 0-27 shutout to UNLV two years ago was probably the single most embarrassing moment in Coach Whittingham's tenure as Utah's head coach.

If you're Kyle do you instruct you team to:

a) play just good enough to beat UNLV so we don't embarrass Sanford
b) give it everything you've got a let the chips fall where they may
No mercy | 5:05 p.m. Oct. 13, 2009
Anyone who thinks Kyle is going to give the Rebels any slack just to save Sanford is delusional.

If the Utes destroy UNLV, Kyle will apologize to Mike after the game and wish him well in his next coaching gig, but Utah isn't going to care whether their beatdown of UNLV costs Sanford his job.

Kyle MIGHT take a knee on a last minute scoring opportunity if the Utes are up by at least 3 TDs. Otherwise, no mercy.
The NIT | 10:48 p.m. Oct. 13, 2009
Kyle will win the UNLV game with class - as he always does. You can be sure that the Utes won't be trying to score with 20 seconds left and a comfortable lead - as classless Boise State did in a lackluster win over a I-AA opponent.
