Jeremy was a fine young man. He was a wonderful, loving, and caring husband and father. He cared deeply about his family and community. He worked hard and served many many people. He will truly be missed by all that knew him. My love goes to his wife and children and extended family.

A fellow Runner

I am so sad to hear about this....my thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Faith and prayers for Jeremy and his family. This is incredibly tragic and a special prayer for his wife and children, for their comfort, peace and security. Also a prayer for Joshua Salayich. A tragic mistake that will cost him for the rest of his life. May he find solace at some point - let God decide.

A fellow runner

I am so sad to hear of this tragic event. My prayers are with the family and friends during this difficult time.

This devastating tragedy has brought great pain to our entire community. This man was a dedicated husband and father who also reached out to serve others constantly. Let's do the same for his family. An account has been set up for his children at Zions Bank.

My deepest condolences to all his loved ones. May God be with you during your time of mourning.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of this man, what an absolutely horrible event. My thoughts & prayers go out to the family and friends. I have ran a few of the Ragnar races (Utah and Washington). My team and I stopped running because of serious safety concerns with these races that Ragnar seemed to ignore when we brought them to their attention. I hope this will bring attention to this issue and make these events safer.

This is a horrible tradgedy. We had a team involved in this race and we had been commenting on the risks involved with a race running through the night especially in Las Vegas. There were many risk factors involved not the least of which is the lax laws in Las Vegas. There is no punishment associated with serving a patron drinks until all hours of the night and then allowing them to leave. The casinos, bars etc...can serve and serve and then just let them go.No one can go after them. The laws in Las Vegas need to be reexamined and changed. There are too many good people losing their lives because of drunk drivers. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, they lost a husband and daddy in a senseless tradgedy. May Heavenly Father comfort them right now.

My heart goes out to Jeremy's family. On the same morning that Jeremy was running in the Ragnar and lost his life, I was running in a local 5K race in the same community where Jeremy lived. This 5K was to raise funds for a family who also lost their father/husband to an out of control driver. My thoughts and prayers are with both the Howell family and the Kunz family.

Fellow Vegas Ragnar Runner

My team was a mile or two behind this runner... What a horrible tragedy! When we heard about the accident it just made us all feel sick inside and put a big black eye on an otherwise great event.

Something needs to be done about the problem of drunk driving. How many more innocent lives will be lost??

Jeremy was my boss and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

condolences to the family and friends. i am so sorry for your loss.

For the rest of us, How many more reminders do we need, please please DON'T EVER drink and drive.

This is a very terrible tragedy, as the comments surely declare. How many of these commenters, however, drive and talk on their cell phone?

The distraction of a cell phone, whether hands free or not, is the same as DUI in its affect on the driver.

A cell phone chatting driver is 4 times as likely to cause an accident as a driver without a cell phone, according to several articles in this newspaper.

Hang up and drive!

What a tragic loss! Words can't describe the pain and suffering this senseless act will cause. I hope the family will recover and the driver will learn his lesson. Former Ragnar Participant.

In my opinion, penalties for drunk driving should be severe - particularly when someone is injured or killed.
