If there is one thing great about this teacher, is that she fought for the rest of the kids on that bus to make sure that they were safe. She sounds like the ultimate teacher and a great mentor. Best wishes to the family and kids who are affected.
she was my moms friends' sister. best wishes to all of those families! she sounded like a great/strong person!
Class of '94 American Fork High School lost someone special!!!! What a tragic event and I'm speechless. How sad
Aren't periodic medical checkups required to be a school bus driver? If not why not?
someone very good. Why is it that a beginning teacher cannot afford a home in American Fork?
Does anyone know if she attended AF High for all of her high school? I attended Granger High and when I heard her name and saw her picture my heart dropped because she looked so familiar!
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends.
We don't know how many lives this young lady saved in her death. Maybe that isn't important. Maybe what is important is how many lives she impacted while she was alive.
She was a great person and loved to talk about music and all that she has helped. She will really be missed.
we are sorry for your loss but remeber the good times. she sounds like a great person. you all are lucky to have known her.
Our hearts go out to Annette & Paul and their family. May all the warm thoughts expressed about the special person that Heather was in life, and in her heroic death bring them comfort.
to consider a bronze statue of her, on the school grounds, in a leadership pose. $30,000 tops. AFHS can do it.
So where is the leader who will take this and do the right thing?
I am out of state, miles and miles away, or I would do it.
$1 from every citizen in American Fork should cover it, no?
As a reply to New Sneaks...
She saved my life a few years ago and has never stopped. I lost my best friend and felt like I had no one left. She stepped in has been my mentor, my guide every since. She saved more than the lives of the students on that bus, she saved lives outside of teaching! Last night was emotional and moving. Many of her friends have BIG plans. Love you Heather! I know you would not want us to mourn...
If you go back through the thread, you'll notice that I didn't jump in until it was well into full gear. ,
