Time to try and get into region 4. Numbers are tainted when your region is that bad. Not saying yuo wouldnt do great in region 4, I think your the best team in utah. but, its time to stop playing the Boise St schedule
Just like every other year. W.J. schedules a bunch of patsies on their schedule and then gets in region play and Morgan wonders why his team isn't prepared. Where are all the W.J. fans who were saying this was the year they take Bingham out? That score is misleading, it wasn't even that close!
Bingham is just too good. Hope the Jags can bounce back and make the playoffs.
I am predicting the Jags end up at 7 - 3. Not bad considering two of their losses came from the two best teams in the state. (If Boehlter didn't have a concussion in the Riverton game they may of won that one as well)
It also looks like WJ has some very talented kids coming back for the next three years. If only we were 4A.
Win the last two regular season games and this season is considered a success.
Go Jags!
"OK Bingham" - You should be directing that comment to the Utah High School Activities Association, not Bingham High School. It was the UHSAA who decided to realign the regions as they are. You're wasting your time directing such comments at the Bingham coaching staff and administration.
If you look at Bingham's schedule, they played Alta and American Fork from Region 4, and won. They played Cottonwood from Region 2 and Viewmont from Region 1, and won. They scheduled the toughest teams they could before getting into region play, including Trinity, on Labor Day.
If it were up to Dave Peck to plan his entire season, the Miners would play the best teams he could schedule every week.
I would like to see other schools in Region 3 have better football teams. Playing teams that are so weak is no way to prepare for the playoffs.
Students attending other Region 3 schools need to get our there and play. If they have the athletic ability, they may make Region 3 more competitive. I said this last year to West Jordan students, now I'm saying it to those at Kearns, CHHS, and Taylorsville.
I'm a WJ fan, so when I say Bingham does a good job scheduling, there's no bias there. Bingham knows they're going to have a breeze in region (and you can't help what region you're in), which is why they schedule harder preseason games, Alta, Trinity, etc
Whereas, WJ knows they're going to struggle in region, so why not schedule some "patsies" to get the team a few wins to build confidence and to get the offense operating?
That said, I believe both teams had smart scedules this year.
I remember in the mid 90's when Bingham vs. WJ was a BIG rivalry. And from 1999-2001, each of the Bingham vs WJ games were decided by 3 points. Two of those three games went into overtime. And WJ won 2 of those 3.
Now it's just sad that WJ can't even compete with Bingham anymore. WJ hasn't beat the Miners since 2001, I wonder if they'll ever be able to do so again.
"Sad", Bingham can't stay on top forever. Maybe for the forseeable future, but not forever.
What it will take to dethrone them is a lot more support from the student bodies and communities at the other Region 3 schools. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you don't care. The cheers coming from West Jordan's crowd last night were exuberant. But cheering for the team isn't enough to win football games. Like I said in my earlier post, West Jordan needs to get students out of the bleachers and into football pads. As do the other schools in Region 3.
I'm sure there are students walking the halls of Region 3 schools who could help improve their teams, but don't even try. THAT is truly sad.
I wonder if you know why Bingham vs. West Jordan was such big rivalry. It began long before the mid-nineties.
Bingham has a little league program that continues to attract athletes from all around the area. The loyalty of the Poly athletes to Bingham programs is HUGE. You don't have a #1 program without your share of these kids! They were born to play football! If Bingham continues to be an attractive program to the young little league athlete they will continue to dominate in high school.
I just wanted to say that I am so impressed with Braden Anderson. I loved watching him last year and knew he would be a great leader this year. He has great instincts and the physical talents to play at the next level if he chooses. I don't know Braden but it is easy to see his swagger and toughness from the stands. Bingham has many kids who could go on to the next level! Good Job guys and keep it up!!
Kids need to play where they live. This would help balance out the teams.
I agree with anonymous there are at lest 7 new movins for bingham they have established themselves with all the sexy things that high school parents wont. So every kid is going to transfer to play at bingham they have created a super team that Region 3 cant compete with. so please dont say we have athletes in are hallways because we dont.
i absolutly agree with BT. its sad how many athletes who play other sports and dont come out for football at west jordan. most of them are probably intimidated by coach morgan, but if you dont have what it takes to be in the program he will let you know it. he has always encouraged young athletes to come play and also encouraged his football players to play other sports, whether it be track wrestling basketball or baseball. fortunately this year they have been able to get a few more athletes to come play who have made a big impact on the team... GO JAGS! finish the fight!!
The post from Info man @ !:30 was not from me.
To this impostor; WHAT?
BT oh please, tell us, tell us, why was Bingham vs. WJ such a big rivalry and how it started well before the mid 90's

First, I also agree with the anonymous person who posted at 12:23 p.m. yesterday.
This may make you happy. The Jordan School District has four proposals for redrawing school boundaries when the new high school in Herriman opens next year. Two of those four plans would have closed boundaries for Bingham and open for Riverton and the new school. This information is on the Jordan School District web site.
You claim there are "at lest (sic) 7 new movins (sic) for bingham". If they moved to South Jordan or they transferred as allowed by the rules, Bingham has done no wrong. Until proven otherwise, you're tilting at windmills.
Last comment for tonight. Promise.
"please dont (sic) say we have athletes in are hallways because we dont. (sic)"
Last year, I spoke with a head coach at another school. I've known him since 1993. He told me that there were dozens of students walking the halls who could make a big difference on the football field, but didn't even try out for the team. That school is in Region 3, although it's not West Jordan. If it's true at that school, it's likely true at West Jordan. I'll take his word for it over yours any day.
Bingham hasn't always had a "super team" in football. They've worked hard for years to become one of the state's elite teams. West Jordan has been competitive and beat Bingham four years running at one point. They can work hard and become so again. Riverton is close, and may break Bingham's hold on the Region 3 title. We'll see on Friday.
"Riverton is close, and may break Bingham's hold on the Region 3 title. We'll see on Friday. "
REALLY? We need to meet. I have some some investments you may be interested in. Seriously, you could make millions with no risk.
Bingham will win by 5 TDs like they have done every year.
BT sounds like a HOPEFUL Riverton fan. Or should I say HOPELESS?
Riverton will not be able to move the ball with their Wing-T until Bingham has the game well in hand and the scrubs are in.
Riverton could not compete with AF,LP and squeaked by WJ. We won't discuss Alta (ouch!)Friday will be the same as it always is a 20 point loss and second place in the region. The play off pairings don't look good as rummor has it we will play a team from region 4 or 1. (it really won't matter)We are not that good of a team despite all the comments about how great the juniors are (etc.) We are not as physical on defense as in years past and even though our offense seems to be able to put up points that has been against weaker teams. We have struggled since AF against the others. Riverton will finish 5-4 and a first round loss in the playoffs. It's tough to hear but the truth usually is. I hope I am dead wrong but I do not think so. As they say the proof is in the pudding and our pudding is way over rated. Maybe next year.
