I served a mission in Spain and then went back 15 years later for another two years, got back from there just a year and a half ago. While basketball is played there (I actually ran into Ralph Sampson while on my mission) it is far from popular, it's actually much less popular than motorcycle racing. Games average about 5,000 people and the teams rely on their parent soccer clubs to pay the bills. Just like the giant soccer clubs of the world selling out 80,000 seat stadiums while touring the US and MLS averages 15,000; the Jazz will sell out 15,000 seat arenas but once they're gone it'll be attendence as usuall. GO JAZZ!
I set my DVR and [later] watched the game - where Chris Webber did the color - when he played Chris was not someone that I cared for.
As for him doing the color for the game - I really did like what he had to say, he was very good and said a lot of good [colorful] things.
I just wish that they would have talked to ‘Chocolate Thunder' aka Darrel Dawkins and find out what he was doing in Spain at the game.
