Basically you are saying you like a one party dictatorship because it brings order and stability. Hmmm....
Brother Chuck Schroeder | 7:29 a.m. Oct. 9, 2009
Well there Bob Bernick Jr., if you spent your adult working years reporting and commenting on Utah politics, no wounder why nothing else gets done, talk is cheap, action's speaks louder then word's alone. I take it you don't like to talk to people face to face, and you don't even know that on this day in history in 1876, the first telephone conversation over outdoor wires was held. Perhaps you to were raised on energy drinks and got your education's playing video games. Perhaps it's time to start talking and do it for the good of America. That way the corruption in Utah will get lower as in some other states. Stop being such a dictator. Take a lesson off of Miley Cyrus that has quit Twitter, leaving her fans puzzled over her abrupt exit and learned to really talk to people face to face rather then just doing the microblogging. Then Utah's politics will be much better as a Red State. That's my conservative view's.

Oh Jimmy J, I may not be a fan of Mr. Bernick but how could one come to the conclusion based on this column?

Oh, Bob, I don't know what to think.

Is it "All is well is Zion. Zion prospereth. All is well."

Or is it "ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor".

I have my own opinion.

To any casual observer, the Utah Legislature is "for sale" to the highest bidder. This article is a joke. Where is the real reporting in this paper?
It is easy to not break the law when you are the one's making them. Just don't make your activities against the law. It does not make their actions right or moral, just legal.

Don't often agree with you Bob, but you did a good job on this one. Thanks for the kind words.
Too ....to matter | 12:13 p.m. Oct. 9, 2009
Utah is simply too small and considered "too unusual" to matter IN THE BIG PICTURE. While living in other states, after leaving Utah, the only questions I have been asked about Utah are:
Isn't the Mormon Church really a cult?
How many wives does your husband have?
Lots of snickers, lots of laughs and jokes.
AND this is coming from Doctors, Nurses, Lawyers, and successful business people!
It did get kind of embarrassing!
You don't need to take Utah politics seriously. For example, just look at Jason Chaffetz.
He and those like him, make Utah more laughable.

There are many good things in Utah politics, but ethical oversight is not one of them. Legislators have become too lax. We need the ethics initiative that is being proposed.

Slow on human rights is not a good thing, but I would largely agree with everything else.
