This movie was obvious and flat and not scary. It is a weak, weak Blair Witch for kids too young to see how obviously ripped off it was. Lame.
I thought that the movie was pretty good. Had some good scares. Yeah, it was predictable in that you knew something was going to happen, but the good part about it was that you didn't know what was going to happen.
I would say it is worth 8 bucks.
This was the scariest movie that I have seen in a very long time. It is nice to see a movie that doesn't depend upon blood and gore to chase up scares. Instead it uses light, sound and scary sight ploys to scare you. I think some of the other horror movies can take a page from this movie. Leave it up to the imaginations of the audience to let their minds wonder. Remember the movie Jaws, the reason why it was so scary was that you actually didn't see the shark only saw its fin and the music added to its tone. Note this when I was leaving the theater the people who said it wasn't scary were people mostly in their 20's. I don't know maybe it is a generational thing but it scared the heck out of me and my wife (37 and 35 our are ages). In closing I would definetely recommend this movie!!!!!! Grade: A, 4 stars!
SCARIESSTTTT MOVIE EVERRRRRR... i couldnt even sleep at night i was having nightmares and i just kepted thinking about the movie. just thinking about it gives me chills and my eyes get all teary.
am I missing something here? because I thought this was the cheesiest movie ever.. I wasn't scared at all.. Very disapointed in this flick.
Mr. Film Reviewer...I just wanted to point out that Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, didn't really "cash in" at the box office. Research, my friend, research.
Paranormal Activity, unfortunately, will soon become a "bashed" exercise with a "slow moving plot-line," and full of "parlor tricks," to many of today's youth, who are used to quick cuts, fast action and ridiculous scares from a thriller or horror genre'd film. Too bad, this film is really quite good and has one of the better guerilla marketing campaigns in film...ever.
It's all about the slow-build. Creating tension. Something getting under your skin. This movie is solid...period.
Great movie. Clever, original, and scary, all without special effects, gunfights, gore, etc. An instant classic.
I haven't seen it, but if it is anything like Blair Witch I'll pass. As I sat through that travesty I was so sick of the girl by the time the movie was half over I wanted to kill her myself.
this movie was awesome
