It's such a comfort to know that not only our people, but people of all origin have come together as one in this very special time of need due to this great disaster throughout the islands of the Pacific. I'm so very proud of our culture, people helping one another. It makes my heart sing with great pride that even though we all are sadden and grief stricken due to their loss of loved ones. They will overcome all because they believe there is a living and loving God. Their belief is as I remember, God taketh, God will provide, it's in God's hands. Those were some of the words I always remember hearing from my ancestors. And so with those words, I know our people will go forward with their lives.
I'm overjoyed to hear and read about the donations and support throughout the communities. Through this tragedy our people have found celebration in life. In a time of grief and stress we have always found a way to rise with power, leadership, and love. We will rise once again. God Bless our people "FAAVAE LE ATUA SAMOA MA TONGA"

I am so happy to see people come together and donate to the victims of this tragedy. My question is just, how are they going to ship all that stuff to the islands?

A generous donation from Godfrey Trucking will allow for donated items to be shipped from Utah to Los Angeles. Volunteers are in place there, ready to receive the items, put them on palates, and it will be shipped on relief planes provided by the State Department. This is all arranged through the office of US Congressman Eni Faleomavaega of America Samoa.
