It's a sad day to be a BYU fan.

Yet another great accomplishment by the U of U over BYU.

Celebrate; this recognition is wonderful for the whole state!

BTW, do you know which American University claims the most Nobel Prizes? It is the University of Chicago.

I'm very happy for the U. Their medical programs are top notch and they obviously hire very talented professors. Congratulations (from a BYU grad).

Henry ... get a life. This is a wonderful article about a former UofU professor and you have to soil the comments with a jab at BYU fans. Grow up.

Fran Farny ... the UofU has be recognized multiple times for it's tremendous medical programs. BYU doesn't have a medical program. BYU has been recognized for it's Marriott School of Business. This isn't a competition for recognition. Please stop comparing. Each school has it's strengths. Get a life and Grow up!

As evidence of the Utes' preoccupation with all things BYU, check out the first two comments. It's sad to think that the first thing you two thought of after reading this article was BYU. Try to live your lives the best way possible and not with your minds being 45 minutes south on 1-15 24/7. Anyway, congratulations to this individual for a job well done.

Congrats to all involved.

Larry 9:34, see the story about the drunks who stole the bronze Book of Mormon from a statue in SLC and Chris B's comment before going off on Utah's supposed preocupation with BYU.

It's interesting to note that he took a large pay-cut to leave the U. That will not look good when the U says they need to more money to pay instructors to prevent a brain drain.

Perhaps sadder that henery and fran can't be one-thousandth as bright. Congratulations to the good Doctor.

One more person left Utah and found fame. This scientist was willing to take reduced pay to leave Utah.

Notice how he didn't win the award until AFTER he left the U? Not a coincidence...
