What an utterly powerful testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon! Amen!

Cats

Thank you, Elder Holland, for your powerful testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon.

Bryce

Elder Holland's talk was one of the most powerful testimonies of The Book of Mormon that I have ever heard. It will go down in history as a witness of the truthfulness of that book.

This was a powerful testimony of the Book of Mormon. Brother Holland's talk puts forth questions that members and non members alike need to ponder. Joseph and Hyrum gave their lives for this wonderful Book that gives us such wonderful insight into the gospel principles that brings clarity into our lives. I too add my testimony to this wonderful Book and those who gave their lives so that we might stand fast in these latter days.

The other day I came across one of these anti mormon statement about the book of Mormon among other statements.
What a powerful testimoney of one the Lords apostle we where hearing today. I noted the same power when Holland testified of the savior at the last conference. Some of his talk at the april conference was put on YouTube as an easter message. Holland is magnifying his calling as an apostle of the Lord. I like his style and him very much :-)

What a talk! I had goose bumps all over. How prophetic! What a testimony ... It totally reminded me on Elder McConkies last talk, when Elder Holland said, that his testominy of the Book of Mormon is as strong as Lehis, Benjamins, Almas or Moronis testimony!

I love this wonderful man and spostle, whom I got to see in Dresden / Eastgermany when I was 16 years old.
All my english - I learnd through listening every morning to his BYU devotionals, during my mission in Austria. Thank you Elder, for your great contribution to the world.

Never have I heard an apostle of the Lord speak with such strength and power of the Book of Mormon. He does not apologize, he does not make excuses, he defends and publically adds his witness to a principle that is integral to our beliefs. I feel we too, must love and defend the Book of Mormon with the passion of Elder Holland.

MSE

Most powerful testimony I've personally ever heard on the Book of Mormon. Reinforced the testimony I already have of it.

RP

Very powerful testimony on the Book of Mormon. But the part about it being the cause of Joseph's death seems rather misleading. .

I wish more conference talks were like this one. This is what I need to hear!

I invite you to read the Book of Mormon and ask God sincerely and directly if it is true. Isn't it better to trust in God to give you the correct answer rather than to trust in opinions of human beings? Isn't the human mind/opinion fallible and finite when left by itself?

When I compare your testimony of the Bible to Elder Hollands of the Book of Mormon...

His testimony had truth and feeling, power that reached and connected with my spirit

Yours was just spiteful, bigoted words

I think that I will go with Elder Holland

I also know that the Book of Mormon is TRUE and your words(or words in general) cannot nor will not erase what the Holy Ghost has confirmed to my soul.

Glad to get you talking about the Bible. God did not ever reveal himself on plates of gold in "reformed egyptian".....can someone explain that one to me? (no such language) He does love us and wants us to read the Bible. The best parts of the book of mormon are the direct quotes taken from Isaiah and Matthew.

We should remember that we are not responsible for the actions of Joseph and Hyrum. Their actions don't "mean" the Book of Mormon is true. How many Muslims, Jews and Catholics have given their life for their religion? Far more than have given their life for the LDS church. Does this mean those religions or the Koran are more true?

I have met Elder Holland and know that he is an apostle of God. I felt his knowledge that he knows God lives and that Jesus is the Christ. This message was to testify of that.

Andrew

Strong testimony from a true Apostle of Jesus Christ. There will come a day when all shall have a sure knowledge of Christ just as Elder Holland obviously has. We would be wise to heed his counsel. He holds the same position and authority as the Apostles in the Bible.

Chris

If you have been praying for years to know, make sure that your life is in order and that you are willing to do what God wants you to do with the testimony of the book of mormon. We can pray for a testimony all we want, but if we are not willing to what is required of us with that testimony, God will never give it to us. That is why Moroni says we ask "with a sincere heart, with real intent".

A Man's Perspective

The Book of Mormon is true. I have read all counter theories of critics. The only thing consistent about critics' theories is how inconsistent they are. It always amuses me how these critics so easily dismiss the Book of Mormon, and yet off no viable, even remotely reliable and believable explanation for its existence. As Elder Holland said, the theories about the Book of Mormon other than the testimony by Joseph Smith are pathetic - let me repeat: PATHETIC.

The book is true. I have witnessed the wonderful, powerful, and consistent power of God testifying to me of its truth, year after year, time and time again.

The Book of Mormon is true and is the word of God. God will not interfere with your choice to do with the book as you please. But to the SINCERE truth-seeker, He will reveal its truth. Believe it to your eternal benefit. Disregard it to your eternal regret.

Chris

I love how he didn't try to prove the book of mormon was true with any factual evidence, even though there is. Instead he proved to us that it was true with the only thing that nobody can deny him of, a testimony, a conviction. People will scoff at his talk and say he is lying, but we all saw his emotion, he knows its true. I know that the book is true too. Nobody can tell me otherwise. People can give me whatever evidence they want to try and disprove me, but I have investigated the book and seen its effect on my life and others. I know in my soul, and my mind, that the book is true, and nobody can deny me of that.

To anonymous @5:54,
The objection that you raise is a weak and old one and has been answered again and again.
Reformed Egyptian is not an official name for the language inscribed on the plates. Reformed is an adjective that indicates that the Egyptian used on the plates differed in some ways from the Egyptian found in ancient Egypt, but was still similar enough to be recognized as Egyptian. This is typical when one group becomes separated from another and the language develops differently.
Which form of reformed English do you speak? Southern, British, 16th Century, Ebonics, South African, Canadian? I speak Southern, y'all.
