Kirilenko is really a wonderful guy. He does this for the love of the game. It was because of this passion why he broke down a couple of years ago. As much as I love Jerry Sloan's coaching, he hasn't figured out how utilize AK's wonderful talents. He's like Spiderman on the court with his awareness, timing, and agility. Please don't blame AK for his massive contract--at the time of the signing, everyone celebrated AK as the face of the franchise and saw it fit to pay him the max. Plus how can he help when he's on the bench most of the time? When he is on the court he gives all out hustle and effort so I belive he's worth every penny. I hope the Jazz do the right thing and let him finish his career there in Utah. Without AK47, the Jazz wouldn't be playing any defense at all. Here's to a great year, Andrei!

Yawn. What a heart warming story. All it was missing was the mention that AK likes kittens and rainbows. How about something meatier than "AK is nice and we could be friends?"

Brad Rock the Rock Monster! comes through again. Great article... and I agree about Kirilenko having a great season for him, he needs it.

AK,

Nobody can doubt his sincerety and he has adjusted to liking the game again. A few years ago when he was the only NBA caliber player on our team we won half of our games which speaks volumes for him, and a little about the system he played in.

Now as identified by the writer he is st ill an odd man out. The players and offense changed and they did not include AK. He has had to figure out the best way to utilize himself.

I think this will be his last season here as next year he will have a huge expiring contract which will be more important to other teams and so they will take him. If not that the Nets owner will pick him up and play him on that team.

I too hope he has a banner year and in order to do that Jazz need to ditch Hornacek who has messed up AK's shooting. AK shot much better before his shooting coach was involved. I say give him at least a better chance for his garewell season at Utah.

Jazz fans can sometimes be fickle. Usually stupidly so. Concerning AK, a lot of them put their feet in their mouths way too often.

AK is the kind of player you want on a team. Right attitude. Fills a stat sheet (the 5x5 thing). Plays hard all the time. Doesn't take possessions off. You can't say that about most of the Jazz players, let alone most players in the NBA.

His All Star year combined with his big contract gave him a sense that he was important to the team (as a starter). Then the newer talent came to town and Sloan forgot about AK. Thus, his public breakdown.

I'm glad AK still cares, still loves the game, and seems to still love being a Jazz player.

With Jerry's new approach to coaching this year, and willingness to try different lineups, this could be a year when AK shines. Let's hope so.

Fug copied my Yawn...

Andre is nice guy.

Fug: You completely missed the point of the story. Most other stories about basketball players are the "meaty" types you want...which due to the fact they're all the same, are no longer meaty. This is a meaty story because it's so out of the ordinary. Can you see a similar story written about other players in the league who earn his salary? Certainly not.

go ak47 and have a great year all around...sloan the bone has been clueless most times in his coaching substitution's over the years...last year in leaving ronnie price on the pine, yet leaving knight in during key minutes...watching him slow down the jazz's offense, while turning the ball over during key possession's...or taking out starters who were on a hot streak, thus letting the other team get back into the game.

I love Andre Kirilenko and I believe in him as a player and lover of basketball. He apparently isn't too interested in money, he's never become arrogant, with a me me attitude. He's friendly and a good family man. If he hasn't figured out his place on the Jazz after all these years maybe it's because he expects more one on one and affection from the players. Not to say he's a mama's boy or anything but I think he wants to belong but it doesn't translate to him.
You go Andre, I'm your number one fan from California. That has to be important to you since I'm not one of the millions of Americans who think Lakers even in their dreams.

Kirelenko is the difference maker that can take the Jazz to the title and win it. This team can win the NBA tile.

One of the few times that I've actually like a Brad Rock article.

I Hope AK stay in Utah for remaning his career.
Only Millsap and AK are the hustle defensive players.
I like Andrei. He is a really good guy. Who always smile and help the team. And i think AK the only player of the Jazz who no carry about his personal stats. He is playing for the team.

Great to read somethng positive, for a change. I would like to see AK's number in the rafters some day.....after he spends 18 years or so with the organization.

If we could take our powerforwards to the lab and combine:

1. The hustle/steals/shot blocking of AK.
2. Boozers soft (right and left) hands and his OFFENSIVE pick and roll abilities
3. The physicalness/banging/rebounding of Millsap.

This makes me feel warm and cozy inside, just like this story.

TOO BAD ITS A FREAKIN FANTASY!!!
