I hope MESA is not one of the "government grants and programs" that Jason Chaffetz & his Sunset Caucus are itching to cut. Contrary to Republican mythology, government can and should fill the gaps when business or private citizens can't or won't. Robert Polanko is a beneficiary who will give back much more (to society & his own family's next generation) than the money that was invested in him & thousands like him. I'm glad that MESA has expanded beyond its original mission of mentoring females into the sciences to include any person whose resources may need a boost to meet the demands of higher education.

Nearly everyone in America would "claim" to support Dr. King. Didn't Dr. King say he wanted his kids to NOT be judged by the color of their skin? Affirmative action is NOT accomplishing Dr. King's goal. For liberals, equality means treating people differently.
