While I like the direction the team is going, that play call and the call to go for it on 4 and 1 that early in the 4th quarter where horrendous - 14 BYU points are pinned on Gary Anderson. Like his players, he needs some more seasoning. Those 2 plays don't lose the game for us, but how does 14-10 in the 4th quarter sound if you are an Aggie fan - especially with Caldwell booming those punts. That is where it should be, the coaches are responsible to put the team in a position to win and they failed tonight.

Keep your heads up team. Our time will come. Thank you for fighting till the very end! We still believe in you guys! Congrats to BYU and good luck the rest of the season. Go Aggies!

Right on Dallas Aggie, that is exactly how we feel. 1-3 might doesn't sound great, but we played 3 tough road games and fought to the end in every one of them.

Bring on the WAC. I think that every game besides the Boise game is realistically winnable for the aggies!

I personally like that our coaches have the guts to make such calls. We should be able to convert on a 1 yard run. For some reason BYU just had our number tonight.

Great job coach and players! We look forward to some W's in the WAC and still expect to go bowling!

if moral victories counted as Ws, utah state would be 2-2

The 4th and 1 call doesn't happen if the fumble at the end of the half doesn't happen. It was right to go for it on 4th and 1 when down by 18 in the 4th quarter. Anderson wanted to win the game, not make it close. It was also a good play call. The hole was there but Turbin slipped on the horrible turf.

~sigh~

I won't pretend I'm not disappointed. I don't want to console myself with listing off plays that could have gone USU's way because there's probably other plays that could have gone BYU's way and made the game 60-17. Whatever.

I'm still an Aggie fan. I'll be there at Romney to welcome Nevada for the first home WAC game. The season is most definitely not lost for us.

Please aggie fans, can we scrap the term "moral victory"? Coach Andersen deosn't believe in them and neither should his players. We clearly have the talent to win games and anything less is unacceptable. GO AGGIES!

Look, I'm the first to admit that USU is much improved and you have some good things to look forward to. But your quote "for some reason BYU just had our number tonight" is such a laughable statement. For some reason? Are you serious? How about, BYU is a much better football team than USU? Your statement implies that USU should have won the game and they just got some unlucky bounces. Cheer for your team, but don't make silly statements like that. Even with a last second TD the Aggies still got blown out.

I agree with Aggie Fan. The coaches need to look at their play calling. That pitch call with 30 sec. to go in the half was horrendous. We should have just run a couple of safe handoffs to Turbin to see if he could break one, or take a knee and go into half down 14-7. The defense had just made a nice stop on BYU. Giving them the ball and an easy score at the end of the half completely changed the game. There is a time to be aggressive. But, this wasn't one of those times. The coaches need to take a close look at their play calling, learn from the mistakes, and make sure they get better as well as the team. With that said, I think we have a great opportunity now to win some games in the WAC. Go Aggies!

Dear Aggies,

Good game vs. BYU. You're definitely headed in the right direction. If you stay the course, winning seasons will be yours regularly.
I offer you this challenge. Play every one of those WAC games like they are an in-state game. If you'll approach those 'not so exciting' games as you do against BYU and Utah, you may surprise yourself at how many of those games result in a W.
I would very much like to see you beat Boise St. EVERY year. Start believing you can do it and then go out there and just DO it.

Good luck Aggies. I have no doubt you're on your way.

With love,
BYU fan

Do we really have posters on here calling for different plays? Do you know more than Gary Anderson? Do you want to go back to run middle, run middle, run middle, run middle, run middle, run middle, run middle?

DO WE REALLY CRAVE THE BRENT GUY OFFENSE AGAIN????

Please people stop acting stupid.

Nice game Aggies. The talent is not there, but you made a good effort.

Running an option deep in your own side of the field is not an appropriate call in the first place!
JJ | 2:04 p.m. Oct. 7, 2009
To sum up the article, BYU dominated the game and shut down USU's offense. Do we have to go over all this again with yet another article?

Let it go and worry about the next game.

USU needs 5 wins just to get a bowl.
