If we all followed Joseph Smith's example, we would all be polygamist.

Just more rhetoric to get people to stop paying attention to the contradictory, absurd details and go along with vague and nebulous feelings that can be called "the Spirit"!

What about the non-members?

Example somehow equates to cloning?

Joseph Smith lived a life closer to God than the average bear today did he not? This was a great article and you claim to be a scholar yet you equate example to some perfectly mimicking behavior.

If I wanted to use a great example of someone who gave very effective public speeches I could easily refer to hitler, I CERTAINLY don't have to follow his other actions to reference the speech's he gave.

Sad to see now good comments on here. I would suggest many members read the King Follett Discourse as it is very informative of the nature of how Smith spoke. We usually read quotes of his, more should read his actual discourses.

I love philosophy and the War in Heaven is something that is a moral battle which is still going on. The more I learn in this life, the more I can defend agency later. I know very few other members who also have as large of a desire to learn (I am not talking my self up, I know my faults and they are huge, but it is true that few really desire to learn).
