Alright, let me get it started......PG is the best team that ever played the game. they have soo many D-1 players.....nobody will touch them....Seriously though, Holding Jordan to 14 points is pretty impressive.
Anonymous | 11:23 p.m. Oct. 1, 2009
This was by far the best team effort/solid game for PG. Good job Jordan and good luck with the rest of the season. PG keep going one game at a time. I can't believe how tough this region is. Everyone has to be ready every week.

Go PG!!

You are right, this is a tough region... even though eventually someone will have to win or lose, the competition is fun!!
Awesome Game | 11:41 p.m. Oct. 1, 2009
Mr. Hart meet Mr. Kruger!

Also since there will be a plethora of PG haters that are wanting to post about how Jordan doesn't have a defense and that is why we won I would like to remind you that Jordan scored 6 points on PG's starting defense. There was a lot of chatter that PG fans couldn't talk until they beat somebody worth beating... well I'll let this game speak for itself.

(btw Alex Hart is an amazing QB and fun to watch)
Alta Fan | 11:45 p.m. Oct. 1, 2009
RE: PG PLAYA - Every team can be stopped. The difference between PG and the rest of the region is the rest of us have nothing to lose...but PG's target is getting bigger and bigger. For PG's sake, the loss is much easier in region play than it is in the playoffs. Can't be beat? I think not, I just hope we can bring our "A" game to your house to give you a true test. Prop's to your kids, they are playing well and deserve at least the #2 ranking. i still think Bingham is #1. But understand your thinking PG is 1. Congrats to holding Jordan to 14 points, thats pretty impressive against Hart. Good Job and Good Luck.
PG Dad | 11:53 p.m. Oct. 1, 2009
Jordan is a classy team and they played hard. Dallas was a whodini tonight on some of the escapes. Both sides were talented. Good luck to Jordan next week at LP. Way to take what the Defense gave you tonight PG. Good luck to both teams through the toughest Region ever. Hope your hand is OK Hart.
Jordan Fan | 12:12 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
I'll be the first Jordan Fan to comment.

Great job PG.
Dominating defense. (Hart was on his back all night - weather he got the ball off or not)
PG controlled the line on both sides of the ball.
I want to give PG's offense credit but you have to admit our defense is WEAK!!! (Good job PG offense)

They teach you this little thing in little league called wrapping up. Jordan, you might want to try it sometime.

No excuses - Jordan was out played, out coached, PG had a lot more heart than Jordan.

Jordan try to bounce back week against LP.
Hart or Lloyd? | 12:20 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
I'd take Hart if I was a college coach, at least for quarterback. Throws a much nicer ball. Lloyd would be an awesome receiver though.

Grades

Offense: B+, Lloyd just makes things happen! Hymas had a strong night, Tucker had a break out game and it was good to see Sampson back in the mix, but the standout? Jeff Harris! That kid can run and its easier to tackle a ghost!

Offensive line: C, Lloyd still spends the night running, give him more time! Coaches, you had a good mix a few weeks ago, why on earth did you mess with it?

Defense: A, holding Jordan to 14 points, 6 against the starting unit was impressive!

Defensive line: A, QB's, that nightmare wears #11 and goes by the name of Joe Kruger, enough said! Jordan Read and Donny Lewis also stepped it up in the secondary.

Special teams: B, Sorhaitz can kick! Special teams learned how to tackle. Doman had a hard time catching the ball tonight.

Coaches: A, Coach Brady did an amazing job getting the defense ready, Coach Sanderson did good as well but needs to get the right offensive line on the field!

Note: Jordans Hart is a real player, very impressive, and his favorite target Hunt is great as well!
Congrats PG | 6:31 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
You beat yet another 5A team that will NOT make the playoffs. Lets see, that makes 0 wins over playoff teams.

Hey... jk... I know that will wake up the PG fans.

Seriously, Great win. It is tough to win every game, no matter who you play. Your schedule works out perfect for you. Every team has been a little better every week since Timpanogos and now you face an even better team Brighton. LP should be no problem. Alta and Brighton will be great matchups.

Seriously, good luck to the players and coaches, not the delusional fans who think since they have beaten a bunch of teams that will not be in the playoffs, they are the best ever.
whew! | 7:34 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
PG should be grateful for their transfer..
BGJ | 8:14 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
Great win boys, that was a great game to watch! It was also great to see "Jeffers" Harris (that was for your Mrs. Harris) and Kyle Tucker have career games!!! I think most impressive was how Coach Steve Brady got the defense ready for a powerful Jordan offense, allowing them only 6 points in 3 and a half quarters. AMAZING!!!

On a different note, I don't remember any specific problems with any other teams we have played so far this season, but Jordan was a classy team; players, coaches and fans. Alex Hart is a quality quarterback, and will continue to give teams fits.

Congratulations Vikings, stay focused and get ready for a tough Brighton team. You are really playing like a team and that is a beautiful thing to watch!!!
re: in the know | 8:23 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
What line-up are you talking about? I've only noticed one different player upfront and I thought that it was becaue of injury. Please tell us, I'm interested.
J-Fan | 8:58 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
Wow PG, WOW. You guys are tough! I was very impressed. Like I said in a previous comment. "If you held Hart to less than 300 yards and 4 TD's you got my respect" You did 1 of the 2, by keeping him under 4 TD's, but he did get 318 yards, at 72% completion, so you get my respect. I have no idea how Hart keeps doing it? He had to run for his life all night. PG's offense is good, not great. As long as there defense keeps playing like they did, they will be alright. PG you are for real. Work, on the throwing game though, because Alta and Brighton will stop your run for the most part. "No excuses" PG was the better team. Keep up the great work. Jordan receivers, you were great last night. You were getting hit so hard and just kept popping right up. Keep your heads up Jordan, you still have a lot of games left. That was fun to watch.

Go Diggers!
Hart, you are amazing!

re:

The starting line has been Erickson at center, Hunt and Walker at guards, with Weese and Browne at tackle.
Injuries serious or otherwise have been Erickson, Weese and now it looks like Hunt.
Players seeing time for the injured are Jenkins, Fanaika, King.
The most effective lineup? Jenkins at center, Hunt and Walker at guards, Fanaika and Browne at tackles.
If Hunt's injury is long term, this is what I would like to see from left to right:
Tanoai-Fanaika-Jenkins-Walker-Browne

If Tanoai can play with a cast, he would make a big, fast, athletic player that could control the D end on the weak side.
Just my opinion.
PG Observer | 9:21 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
I don't think there is any doubt who the best QB in the state is. I like hart, but whenever he had pressure he forced throws or took off into the arms of the D-line. I really feel that Lloyd is the complete package. Stanford got a steal. Last year if he felt pressure, he would tuck it and run. This year when he feels the heat coming, he makes the D-line look foolish, finds a way to get out of it, and then is looking downfield for open recievers. I would like to see him be a drop back passer but thats not PG's style.
Fan | 9:26 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
Hart is a great QB. Makes great decisions with the ball, is a decent scrambler, and very accurate. But his numbers are decieving. He owes his pass yards to his reveivers and their ability to get yards after the catch. 90% of Hart's throws were swing passes or dumps over the middle. He did have 1 or 2 good strikes though of 15 yards plus. After PG's 1st team defense went out, Hart had two drives where he threw the ball every down and was close to 150 yards passing in the last two possessions alone vs the 2nd string D. So really, He threw for about 168 yards against PG's first team defense with 1 TD
Great Game | 9:30 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
Best team effort I have seen yet from the Vikings.n Lloyd, you truly are somethign special. I read coments on here after last weeks game about "he doesnt have a D-1 arm". Really? He certainly had the legs, and he looks to have one of the stronger arms in the state of utah at the QB position. I would like to see what you he do as a drop back passer. But PG's offense is more of a running first, then roll out your QB and let him make plays. Hey, it has worked so far. 6-0 and rolling
PG Realist | 9:33 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
Great team play PG, and great QB Jordan. Last night's game had the 2 best Quarterbacks in all of Utah high school football playing in it. Harris, way to step up. That kick return was huge. Defense- outstanding. That stand at the end of the half after the phantom fumble recovery was impressive and showed heart.
Correction | 9:35 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
"But the Vikings almost gave that score back when, with 40 seconds left in the half and possession inside their own 10, they didn't take a knee. Instead, Lloyd fumbled trying to gain extra yards and Jordan recovered."

You cant take a knee when Jordan had 3 time outs still. Running your QB up the middle is about the safest thing you can do in that situation
Jordan? | 9:38 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
I counted 3 designed running plays. a half back dive in the first quarter that went for 4 yards, and two QB draws that went for 5 each. Im sorry Jordan, but you cant win many games only running the ball three times. No matter how good your QB is
FYI | 9:41 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
PG, like Jordan is a classy program with classy kids and fans.

If you read the comments above, we, the true PG fans have nothing but respect for every opponent we face.

Region 4 has such great talent-anyone can beat anyone on a given night (Except Hillcrest as they are having a down year is all).

But, pretty soon the posers that like to stir things up from other schools and counties acting like they are PG fans will start to comment about PG just to tick everyone off.

Te real Pg fans want to pummell the posers worse than you Alta and Bingham fans. Just when the comments start coming-realize they arent from the true PG fans.

Amazing Defense PG. Props to Coach Brady-what a Defensive Mind. Jordan was big; a little work on the Defense and they would roll a lot of people.

Next week PG vs Brighton, and LP vs Jordan will be a battle.
Fan | 10:01 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
Well PG you played the 5th best team in Region 4. Tough first half, good defensive stands that opened it up for ya at the end of the 2nd q.

I have seen everyone in the region and you will need to play better offensively to stay undefeated. If Jordan knew how to tackle you would have scored 2 less times.

Brighton, LP and Alta will give you the tougher games you need to prove yourself or not.

JHS Coaches- Hunt, Hammond, Hill open ALL night on slants and outs, why not just KEEP RUNNING THEM. For you guys your best defense is your offense, you dont need to throw deep balls when they play off ya 15 yards. Scoring can take long than 30 seconds. YOu could have been in that game if you took the underneath stuff all night. PG wasnt going to put up 50 on ya.
PG / LP | 10:03 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
I know you don't look ahead to games, but i don't have to play the game in between. To me PG vs LP is the big one. These two teams hate each other as much as utah and byu. It doesn't matter what their records are when they play. Just look at last years game, pg won with a late fg or something. Guaranteed to be a close game. LP has a legitimate chance of shocking pg. If your a high school football fan, you'd be crazy not to go that game.
Hart is better | 10:05 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
Has a better quarterback build and throws the football better.
RE: Fan | 10:06 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
Um, no that isn't true at all. Kruger was in until the last drive of the game. The 2nd team D didn't go in until then. So nice try. He didn't get 150 yards in the last 2 drives. Don't start trying to down play how great he really is. It's okay to admit that Hart is the best. Lloyd can be considered the 2nd best in your eyes, but really he isn't. Don't get me wrong, Lloyd was good, just not in the same league good. Please don't take away from a great game. PG defense is amazing. No doubt about it. They are great. The offense is stacked at running backs. Lloyd excaped a lot of sacks. He is very inaccurite throwing the ball though. You know that, just admit it. Every other fan there saw that Hart is the real deal.

Note:I love how 1 fan can ruin the classyness of the rest of the blogs. Give credit to where credit is due!
PG MOM | 10:12 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
Wow! PG is such a fun team to watch. Lloyd was amazing, Harris, Hymas, Tucker, Kruger were amazing! The next 3 region games are going to be tough. Don't look past Lone Peak, big rival game. All 3 teams will come to play. Keep taking 1 game at a time and things will continue to roll. Stay healthy!! 17 years in the making!!
RE: FYI | 10:46 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
Great comment. Most comments tell the truth about this game. Classy fans on both sides for the most part. It's too bad Jordan doesn't have a D. I wish the coaching staff would give in and start playing the best players on both sides. That is the only chance Jordan has to compete. The talent level is so weak at Jordan, that they have to do it. Please Jordan coaches, WAKE UP! We are perfect on offense. You saw last night, even w/an amazing PG defense we still moved the ball. Hart is simply amazing!
jtown | 10:50 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
wow... great game for lloyd! he was amazing... if only the defense knew how to wrap up lloyd we would've had a chance. All jordan needed to do was keep throwing slant routes and they didn't. stop going deep and start throwing it to hammond and let his feet do the work! Jordans defense was awesome in the first half but then the were horrible in the second. Hart did a great job. I give huge props to the pg defensive line, they tore jordans o-line into pieces... i'd still take hart over lloyd
JHS | 11:30 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
Just like the Alta game - Alta is a much better team but Jordan had the best QB.

PG is a much better team but Jordan had the best QB.

Jordan had the best QB because he's great and he has 2 great receivers and 2 good receivers.

Hart, Hunt and Hammond should have the D-1 offers.

Viewmont | 11:38 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
We went down to watch the game-a little scouting.

Pg could have won 49-6 if they left thier starters in.

Half of third qtr and all 4th they just ran the ball to be nice.

Pulled starters after 3rd being up 35-6.

Jordan called 3 timeouts w/3 minutes to go try and make score respectable. I agree with that as they dont want to give up and kept starters in both sides all game. They scored on JV team.

Hart threw a pick with a 1:15 to go and Pg ran it down to the 2 yard line. Instead of scoring, they took 3 straight knees to end the game. Class.

It wasnt close. Plus the PG QB is a lot more dangerous and hard to prepare for.

LP Fan | 11:58 a.m. Oct. 2, 2009
Lloyd is 6'3 and 210 or so. Strong, and as we can attest over the years can throw it with anyone. He beat us the same way last year Jordan. And has the quickest feet of anyone I have seen. He made the Jordan D line look silly last night as they had him several times and he escaped. I know that #45 for Jordan wanted to kill him if he couldve caught him-but never did. He just has the knack and things you cant Coach. He has been that way since little league. He has eyes on the back of his head.

But this is our year-LP will and must win against PG. We have the quickness and our QB Tannon is having a great year. Plus the Defense will step up. First, we need to contain Hart next week-which is possible after seeing PG do it. I know we will score 35 on Jordans Defense. Thanks for beating them PG for the standings.
Enough | 12:48 p.m. Oct. 2, 2009
The Jordan Qb wasn't that good or he wouldnt have got manhandled the way PG did it to him. He threw it a ton and threw a lot of incompletions. He missed receivers, and all his yards and completions were on dump offs and flares to the RB out of the backfield. Not one completion over 15 yards. He finally moved the ball aagainst the JV kids. Besides the opening drive-after that he was easy to contain-hence the 35-6 score at the end of 3 quarters. Enough with trying to make something it wasn't people. He was average at best.
Enough (cont) | 12:51 p.m. Oct. 2, 2009
Oh yea I forgot..Hart did hit our JV kid in stride for the pick. Enough.

Lloyd 2nd best? | 1:37 p.m. Oct. 2, 2009
You cant possibly compare the two. Lloyd and hart are in completelt different offenses. But to say Lloyd doesnt have the build? He is 6'3'' 215. Thats a pretty big QB anywhere even in college. terrific arm, and he can escape anything. Hart was listed as 6'1'' 190 something. good arm, but didnt complete a pass over 20 all night. If you switch offenses with them, Lloyd would do great in Jordan's gameplan where as Hart would not in PG's. Thats why you center your offense around your QB.
that answers the question! | 1:39 p.m. Oct. 2, 2009
anyone still hinting that Hart is at the same level as Lloyd should have seen this game last night. There is a very strong reason why numerous major D1 programs want Lloyd under center. The kid is a phenom and unflappable.
Lloyd Vs Hart | 1:46 p.m. Oct. 2, 2009
What Lloyd brings

-Accuracy
-Amazing scramble ability
-Decievingly quick (4.5 I am told)
-Unreal pocket presence
-Strong arm, can make every throw
-Production and Play making
-16-1 as a starter

What Hart brings

-Consistency
-Guts
-Accuracy
-Decent arm
-Quick Realease
-Pocket presence
-Chemistry with recievers

Take your pick of who is better. They are both amazing

Could care less about either team.

But we will prepare for PG.

Jordan prob wont make the playoffs unless they get some help. Very doubtful. But you Jordan fans can come watch Viewmont come playoff time.
RE: Lloyd 2nd best | 2:49 p.m. Oct. 2, 2009
That is absolute garbage. PG would still be 6 - 0 and every bit as good if Hart were their quarterback. Hart is every bit the quarterback that Lloyd is, Jordan just isn't the team that PG is.
Best QB? | 3:10 p.m. Oct. 2, 2009
Hart is not a better collegiate prospect than Lloyd. If he were, then why isn't ANYONE recruiting Hart? Answer: Because the system helps him run up numbers. He isn't a collegiate quarterback, and the best he will hope for is a JUCO offer.

I get tired of reading about who is the better quarterback based on numbers. I would take Lloyd or Brown from Alta hands down over Hart. They are both leaders of their team, and both do not care about their individual stats over winning. Jordan is all about individual numbers and who is doing what.... hey how about the team?

Give me a QB that is a flat out winner and leader on and off the field. That is who I would take. Brown and Lloyd are the class of 5A in that regard.

Please... | 3:29 p.m. Oct. 2, 2009
You Jordan fans are unbelievable. Hart had half of his yards against the 2nd D. He throws 500 times a game. He doesn't read a defense, he is average Jordan homers. Lloyd offered, Alex Hart has a goose egg. You Jordan boys aren't going to even make the playoffs. Enjoy your decieving stats, and keep throwing the be 500 times a game. They have a huge 0-line and you can't run the ball? Your coach is a joke.
