Can't wait for the game to start! I know we are going to have a competitive game, but now is the time to take a win on their home field! Our team is ready and poised for success. Let the naysayers write all they want about our past. We are moving into the here, now and future! Go Aggies!
Go get them Ags!! We'll be watching.
Whoever wins, it'll be a great game. Nonetheless, GO COUGS!
That's what in-state rivalries are all about! Go Ags!!
The crowd at Romney last year was into the game because, for the first time in the Brent Guy era, the team actually didn't fold up and go home after several 1st quarter miscues.
The Aggies fought back and played hard the entire game, which was not the norm for the Brent Guy era. What you witnessed was an eruption of cheers for the Aggies finally manning up and hitting back and playing hard nosed football.
Did the Aggies win, not by a long shot.
Did the Aggies care, not that much.
BYU was the recipient of 4 years of waiting for a team to compete combined with the fact that last year everyone (and I mean everyone) speculating on how many points past 60 the Cougars would score. Most sources were giving the Aggies less than 50% chance to even score.
So, the combo of BYU not obliterating the Aggies AND the Aggie team finally standing up and playing hard and getting back up every time they were knocked down resulted in the raucous crowd and the overrated chants.
Good luck tonight and GO AGGIES!!!!
Ah yes, nothing like being behind by a lot and calling the other team overrated.
RE: Idahoan, more true words could not be said. Go Cougars, Go Aggies, make it a game to remembered by both schools and their fans.
>overrated chants
They certainly were.
Interesting how the coaches and the media play us as rubes, as if to will us to think this game will even be close. Go Horns.
I remember attending home games, both football and basketball back when Detmer was around. The USU fans at our home were crude and rude. The game is one thing, the fans are another. BYU needs to just play the game.
If BYU sits back and is not agressive on defense Utah State could win this game. Everyone has seen what happend when BYU played a not so good FSU team. A team with a mobil QB and some speed at wide out will give BYU a hard time. I hope coach Hill has the defense play aggressive, put lots of pressure on the Utah State QB. If BYU does this I think they win easy if not don't be surprised if USU is not in this game to the end with a good chance to win.
How far will BYU run up the score to please their fans?
An Aggie win would sweeter than a Utah win this year. Go AGGIES!
I traveled to the Texas A&M game and watched the Utah State Aggies go head to head with A&M. Physically there was no disparity. In fact Utah State looked to be the more physical as well as faster team. An indication of how physical the game was... Two of A&M's best players are still out with injuries suffered in the game. A&M has the #1 offense in the country and had their toughest outing against Utah State. Cougars better not get too big of a head because the Aggies are going to put a hurting on them tonight. GO AGGIES!
Are you related to CaliCoug?
what he said "Jorgensen remembered. "That lull kind of set the tone for the rest of our season"" So, this FSU game going to be a repeat? Better not be and still disapointed with our Team against FSU and they lost to Southern Florida. I don't care about spead and their disapline was not there! One game at a time and hope Boise St will lose one game this year before the post game. Go Cougars!
I am a rube and proud of it! Go Aggies!
Funny how BYU fans get so upset over the "Overrated" chant last year, despite that assessment being spot on (as proven over the rest of the season). Look, USU fans were realists last year and understood that our team stunk. Therefore, hanging tough with the Y over the second half proved that either a) USU was a decent team, or b) BYU wasn't that good. We fans realized it probably wasn't a), so we let BYU know it was b). Simple, really. Judging by how sensitive BYU fans still are over that chant, I'd say it was extremely effective at getting into your heads.
Go Aggies!
We'll win because, uh uh, we'll win because, uh uh, we'll win because we didn't lose by very much last year. Go Aggies.
This will be a payback game for the Y who will run up the score and pound the aggies for last year. I predict a 44 to 17 beat down with 10 points being scored by the aggies in the fourth quarter on the second team. A lot of talk about a team that will get worked in Provo!
BYU was exposed as weak and inefficient vs USU last year, and ended their season as just that - weak and inefficient.
This season has shown BYU to be weak and inefficient at times - outplayed last week in many categories by CSU, and then, of course, there's the FSU thing.
Tulane was a feel-good game, and it did feel good for a week.
What is next? With this program, you hope, but you never really know.
I want my Cougs to show me - and everyone else - that the OU game was no fluke. Right now, it doesn't add up to much more than a lucky outcome.
Some good "D", no interceptions, and a lopsided victory should be the outcome tonight, if in fact this team is for real.
Go Cougars!
