I agree he needs his day. He was a truly brave individual in a time of discord. Not many would have done what he did. You should be very proud of your father.
If it had to do more with the fact that he was Mormon than anything. We know that alot of people outside of Utah don't like Mormons.

Good article, seemingly well researched. Sounds an interesting character. Of course, he was not alone in being an LDS FBI man, there were, as mentioned, many others. Perhaps that's why FBI men tend to look like Mormon missionaries whenever we see them in films!
Because of JEH's respect for and admiration of Cowley the FBI like to hire LDS applicants.
