I was a child when a "Brian" raped me as well. I know that you will be taken care of. It was not okay with the Lord. You are pure and every part of you. He is helping you speak out. Your spirit knows it was very wrong. Because our spirits are devine, when our rights are breached, we know it. I am so sorry for what you have had to endure, remember, and testify against. I pray that you will be free from the fear, or at least that it will lesson. Keep marching on. You represent all of us who have been abused. We pray for you and are sad you have to be in the spot light but know that your innocence shines through and ours shines in you. You and your family are in our prayers Elizabeth.

This something nobody should have to endure. I admire Elizabeth for being strong enough to be able to testify against this monster. I feel so happy for her that she is going on a mission. May the Lord continue to bless her.

Competent to premeditate a kidnapping at knife point, competent to know he must hide her, competent to know he must brainwash a child in order to control her, sounds competent enough to stand trial and face the firing squad to me. What a brave young woman.

At the time when Elizabeth went missing and then was found, probably everyone assumed that rape HAD to be a part of her ordeal.

To read now--from her own statement--of the multiple rapes she had to endure is still shocking.

Still, it is like the joy of hearing she had been found alive and rescued to hear she has the gumption to testify, and to hear she will now serve an LDS mission in Paris. We wish her the very best.

This is one brave girl. Her strength got her through this horror and will give her a good life. The man who took her needs a small cell and no human communication for the rest of his life. Let him be fed thru a slot like an animal.

Elizabeth Smart is so brave and amazing. Mitchell is a monster and the fact that she not only survived this ordeal, but has become a beautiful, confident role-model to young women is a testament to her strength.

There is not virtue in being a victim. This is however great virtue in overcoming tradegy. When I see the confident picture of Elizabeth walking into the courtroom "time to kick some butt and takes some names" it makes me respect her all the more.

Whether or not Mitchell is competant to stand trial or not he does appear fairly ingenious with insanity singing hymns bit.

You go girl. You are making your life the way you want it to be. You really are an inspiration that even though you go through something horrible that you can move forward and soar. Thank you!
