Great story about a kid who never gave up even when the coaches would hardly give him a chance! Great inspiration to a lot of kids!!

The Utes are the top program in the state.

Great story - shows how hard, dedicated work pays off. Go Utah. As a BYU fan, may the best team win in Nov at LES.

Joe: Best of wishes to you and the Utes. I am so glad to see you start to reach your dreams and hopes. The best to you and your family. I know you have done this through very hard work. Remeber Once a Knight always a Knight. Go luck to you from Virginia/SVU

I have really enjoyed the stories about Kepa Gaison, Joe Phillips, and Shaky Smithson - keep up the inspirational stories - on any of the local teams - I love to have my boys read about how different people have achieved their goals or like in Shaky's instance taken on a huge responsibility. GO UTES!

Practice does not make perfect. But.... Perfect practice makes perfect. Keep those steps taped to your floor.

Great attitude... | 9:43 p.m. Oct. 2, 2009

Joe Phillips is my hero! The way he kicks pretty much knocks my socks off...and I think that by the time he walks off the field for good he will leave a bigger legacy than any other Ute Kicker ever to play the game!
Great lesson | 11:14 a.m. Oct. 5, 2009
He could have just said, "Oh well, no D1 schools want me." But instead he was proactive and went after his dreams. Think about how hard it would be to call a coach at a major program (let's hear it Y fans) and ask him to come watch you play.

DUDE-too bad you're not a lefty, they're way cooler. but you're still pretty good i guess. do work, cuz.
