This extremely important project should take priority. Cudos to Frank Gray and Mr. Simonsen for their leadership! North Temple is the logical entry for TRAX, airport and 'slower' tourist traffic, and is the 'formal' entrance into the "Ecclesiastical Corridor" of the City, the heart of the LDS Church. With the new City Creek and its enhancement of South Temple, the North Temple Corridor is an even more crucial piece, shouldering, with South Temple, those blocks from 400 West to State Street. The LDS Church is already providing the lead engine. It would be the worst form of negligence for the City to poor-boy North Temple. Incidentally, there is a historic, mid-block street between North and South Temple Streets, originally named "Deseret Avenue”, extending from the West gate of Temple Square to 400 West, forming an incredible View Corridor centered on the Tabernacle and Temple. The existing opening along West Temple, between the Museum and History buildings, where the 'temporary' log cabin and poplar trees were 'planted', was created and mandated years ago by the late President N. Eldon Tanner, to preserve, in perpetuity, that view corridor. Let’s keep our eye on the Temple. and North Temple!

In the long run, you'll be glad you buried the lines. Think of the future.
