Corroon's office staying out of employee grievance ruling

He refused to take a hard stance on the Planning director mess. Now, instead of issuing a statement that, while he may not have the ability to sanction an independently elected official, he reiterates his strong stand against employee retaliation and misconduct by anyone at the County.
Seems the Mayor would rather play insider politics and not upset the DA than reassure the thousands of employees at the County under his supervision that they will not be retaliated against for filing legitimate grievances.
Instead, he just washed his hands of it. Poor leadership. Disappointing, Mayor.
The problem is they forced her to take him back, what do you think is going to happen when the boss is forced to take back an employee with whom she has problems?
They're going to have problems!!! Duh! It's her office, let her hire and fire whom she pleases so long as it's not discrimination or harassment.
Clearly you don't know how government jobs work. You can't fire people at will, it must be for cause. That is what Mr. Morgan appealed in his firing- and won!
The only reason there are problems is because Mr. Morgan ran against MS Miller for DA. She is a poor loser, and dreamed this whole thing up just to fire him. The Board said that no confidential information was leaked, so she had no cause to fire him.
And MS Miller's smarmy response when she lost was "if you are a general busted down to a private, everybody knows you have done something wrong." That was her mistake- the Board did not "bust him down to a private," but she sure did. She made a 20 year veteran do menial tasks in the office so that he KNEW who was in charge- that SHE is the general.
Good riddance!

Strong "corrective action" is needed to remind everyone that they cannot use their position of power to attack employees. This is far too common in government agencies.
