Flowers has one of the most commanding stage presences I have ever seen. He looked very upset when he was told they had to fix the technical problem. It seemed to change the direction of the show, they usually don't begin with Joyride and I think they were going to try something new. It was way too short.
The show was fantastic!!!! Brandon Flowers is a very charismatic singer and extremely entertaining! This was my first time seeing them live and I felt they had a good mix of all three mainstream albums. (they have released other b side albums, ie. the joydivison cover from sawdust). There was an encore however we left after the encore was there a second one? Does anyone know?
There was just one encore, dave. I enjoyed the show a lot. I was screaming and jumping up and down and signing a lot. It's true that the sound mix was awful, though. We couldn't sing with Mr. Flowers when he wanted us to because we couldn't hear the words! Still, I think "All these Things that I've Done" pretty much made my night. Wow, what a song!
"Change Your Mind" not change my mind..
There were 3 encores: Sam's Town, Jenny Was a Friend of Mine and When You Were Young.
Wow, amazing concert. I have never had so much fun! Brandon was amazing!
Read my mind. The Killers were amazing, but I was surprised how little they did from Day and Age. Mariachi El Bronx was garbage and really killed the vibe with its gimmick.
The killers did just that, killed. Best show I've ever seen.
We were in the seats just opposite the stage and found the sound quality EXCELLENT -- clear and sharp -- for The Killers; people we talked to who were on the floor complained it was muddy. I'm guessing the sound was mixed for the seats -- we had no problem hearing Brandon at all.
The mix for Mariachi El Bronx, however WAS very muddy for us seat-dwellers.
But no quibbles -- it was an excellent show. We could have used "This River is Wild," but we aren't complaining.
Mariachi El Bronx was fantastic! The Killers did a great job but the poor sound really hurt the overall experience. They are good but they will never be as good as U2.
I saw U2 in Vegas a few years ago. Flowers made a cameo and made poor old Bono sound like a 14 year old boy. Flowers and the Killers were great this weekend.
What a phenomenal show! My friends and I went up and caught the Boise show the night before, too, and the SLC show was much, much better. Brandon and crew were ready to rip it from the very beginning of the show. I agree with Lin- "This River is Wild" would have made for the perfect set list...
They never seem to do "This River is Wild" when they are in Utah :/ Oh well, it was still a great show. We were in a suite and it sounded great to me!
