Hmm.

Two close games in a row. People are finding out the Braves are not invincible. Very good, but definitely beatable.

it was pretty classless of the viewmont coaches (other than lloyd) to not shake hands in the middle of the field. hey lieber, put someone that's not your mediocre son in. garrett bushman is five times the athlete jeremy is, but his talent is being under utilized because lieber insists on calling a pass on every play. also, the officiating crew last night was a circus: the clock didn't stop when it was supposed, didn't run when it was supposed to, and a simple holding call with three minutes left caused widespread confusion, and a movement of the ball ten yards in the wrong direction.

re: Hmm.

That's a shocker! Everyone including the Braves are beatable any given night! What good teams do is improve and overcome challenges each week. These last two games for the Braves have been with 2 teams who want to beat them the most (WX and Viewmont) as they should being in close proximity and bitter rivals. That's behind us now. It's only about East right now! Go Braves!

Braves know they are not unbeatable. What's great is they know nobody else is either. Although there are lessons to learn from mistakes made every Friday, they know they can win the close ones. Viewmont battled tough and they are a classy team! Brad Lloyd is quite a coach and any Brave will say VHS is lucky to have him. Griggs, Bushman, Fraughton, Jones played very well on offense. Nemelka was awesome on D. Blackhurst was great on special teams and O. At BHS, players like Connor Winters and Helam Heimuli bring it on every down. All these mentioned above were teammates on a championship little league team, extremely well-coached, and beating up on Bingham and Brighton (Alta never even made it to the championship games), so it's fun to see how they have grown. Braves have many others just like that, and their not-so-secret weapon in Coach Wall. Great job, men. Game over. Look to Wednesday, stay humble. VHS--good luck vs Davis. Go Braves!

besides

Viewmont High's offensive coaching problems, they still play sloppy football on offense. 3 turnovers! As I said last week, they were lucky to beat Northridge with 4 turnovers, but 3 int's against Bountiful will get you a loss every time. Defense can't win every game for you.

The Viewmont Defense got their team the ball back with two and half minutes left... and the offense couldn't get it done.

Too many

turnovers from Viewmont will ruin what could have been a productive season.

Good thing they don't report stats because that qb in bountiful has 14 interceptions already this season.

Amen Socrates.

Coach Lieber (not the player) is killing this senior class with inability to be objective. VHS would be a top team if they had a passing game. Try number 9.
This team is loaded with talent. The coaching staff is not.

VHS Fan

Amen Socrates. Thanks Deseret News for printing the truth.

Sorry

i forgot to mention Payne who leads the VHS D. All Those boys who have played together since little league are all fine young men.

I think it's interesting that so many comments here are attacking coaches. Maybe you should try to support them and teach your athletes to respect and try to do as instructed. Maybe the outcome would be better. Just a thought.

I agree get off your coaches back and accept defeat to your cross town rivals. You didn't really expect to come into BHS turf and beat us this year did you? Ha ha not a chance!! Our team is dominant this year. I don't care who was coaching the superior talent came through and BHS rules triumphant yet again. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

Talbot doesn't have 14 interceptions he only has four if that check out the state page on D News. We don't throw enough for him to have that many all of his passes would have had to be picked off.

HEY BHS FAN YOU SAID RULES? I didnt think BHS followed any rules, recruiting, the football announcer, student government, Bountiful doesnt have rules they are above them right?

emanuel

rules? how about hiring a coach that's been convicted of drug offenses? how about having an offensive coordinator whose son happens to be a quarterback? conflict of interest much? most people would agree that supersedes things of miniscule importance like high school football recruiting.

re bhs fan:

Viewmont is in Bountiful... Viewmont's QB has 14 int's. Did you read the post?

To Nuet. Reader and BHS Fan

You guys are absolutely right. Parents should support their kids and their kids should support the coaches. BHS definitly deserved the win and got it.

but....

The qb is the offensive coordinators son. The kid has thrown 14 int's this season. It's pretty ugly. There is lots of talent that can play qb too. Grigg is definitley the best at qb, but Flanery or Payne could play it better than what is going on now.

I'm all for supporting players and coaches, I just feel bad for the kids on the team playing hard who deserve a better season than this.
