Alta fan? | 1:52 a.m. Sept. 26, 2009
Brighton says, "Thanks", PG says, "UH OH!", and the rest of us just know that rankings or whatever... Two teams in 5A are the ones to beat, and come playoff time, they'll likely still be on the same side of the bracket and play in semis! Let that console the 2nd place team from Region 4, and Davis. You could earn the opportunity to get your beating at the U, on KJZZ for a fake #2 trophy.
PG | 6:02 a.m. Sept. 26, 2009
The greatest HS team in the history of UT would not struggle vs AF. 0 points in the first half and a 7 pt lesd late in the 4th.

You Alta fans have no class. NONE! I will just leave there. I don't know how you people stand your self's.

i agree but who will it be? My bet is that if Brighton can get by PG they will go all the way.
Good Job | 8:58 a.m. Sept. 26, 2009
Alta is tough. I think they will go all the way this year. In the next 2 years, watch out for Hillcrest. Their Soph. team is amazing. They beat Jordan yesterday. Dastrup and Whitworth are the real deal. And the Merish kid is only a Junior. I think they can beat Alta next year.

Lone Peak fans are the worst.
re: Miner fan | 11:16 a.m. Sept. 26, 2009
Wow, those Alta fans are horrible huh? They cheer when their team scores a touchdown and boo when there's a holding penalty! How shameful! I've never hear any other fans from any other high school do such horribe things!

I totally agree(get a clue)
Re:Miner Fan | 11:37 a.m. Sept. 26, 2009
You sound like a BYU fan that gets heckled by Utah fans every time you show up in your blue and white to a Utah home game!

Seriously you expect people that cheer for your rival to like you? It's a sport thing I'm sure, and what I mean by that is during the game/season you're the worst enemy but outside of football you could be co-workers or even friends.
re: Disagree Miner fan | 11:53 a.m. Sept. 26, 2009
How are Lone Peak fans the worst? They don't talk their teams up like PG or Alta fans do. They just cheer on their team like ANY FAN SHOULD! Lone Peak fans are just fine.
....... | 12:57 p.m. Sept. 26, 2009
Alta is the best team in the state I would say. They should have beat Bingham and the loss against Brighton was a fluke. Lone Peak is very good to but they need to get Pedersen the time to throw and they'll keep going.
Just my take | 3:16 p.m. Sept. 26, 2009
BINGHAM #1 BABY!!!!!!!!
Alta Man | 3:28 p.m. Sept. 26, 2009
Alta is still the best team in Utah. Brighton loss was a complete fluke, and the bingham game loss was because of injuries
Alta Love | 3:57 p.m. Sept. 26, 2009
We have class and we win! We are the best in the state and should be undefeated! We are the reigning state champions!
Alta | 5:33 p.m. Sept. 26, 2009
If you talk to us...if you read all of our posts...we all love the same word======Should have.

We should have beat Bingham. We should have beat Brighton.

You guys are good, but you are the King of excuses.

Just take it when you lose and move on. As good a program as you are, you will alwyas bouce back.

Enough.

I am not really a Bingham fan, I am a loser trying to stir things up.
A real Alta Fan | 6:26 p.m. Sept. 26, 2009
We are pretty good, But right now Bingham is the best untill another school proves otherwise ( by beating them ) Region 4 will be a challange this year. If we can't figure out our sloppy undiciplined play, we are going nowhere. I think we handled LP farily good last night, if thier line stiffins up, they can make some noise. PG seems to be the real deal but havn't seen them play yet. Brighton looks real good. you gotta love all the comnpetition.
PG | 7:06 p.m. Sept. 26, 2009
Is the BEST team ever. AF had what, one loss and West Jordan was unbeaten. The talent level is too much for any UT team

region 4 realist | 9:13 p.m. Sept. 26, 2009
PG: You have beaten the 7th and probably the 6th place teams in the region. I'm waiting until you win two games from Brighton, Alta, LonePeak, or Jordan before I would really say how good you are. As far as Lloyd goes, He's getting the better deal out of going to Stanford then Stanford is by getting him. But you know what? Good for him.
Brighton: Play consistent and you will be fine. Probably the deepest talent in the region. Great group of seniors who took their licks last year mixed in with some key juniors.
Alta: Probably the best team in the region despite losing to Brighton. Fluke? No way. Brighton dropped a TD pass in the first quarter and also could have scored at the end but took a knee 3 times instead.
Lone Peak: Solid team. Good win over Brighton, but Brighton shot themselves in the foot with 4 turnovers that were silly. Definately a playoff team.
Jordan: If you can get a defense, you'll be solid. Until then, you might be the odd team out of the playoffs. 2 teams will be left out that are really good.
Real PG Fan | 9:19 p.m. Sept. 26, 2009
Whoever submitted that lasy post was not a PG fan. Anyways, congrats alta on the victory. it looks like its going to be PG and Alta for the region championship
Re: Real PG Fan | 9:57 p.m. Sept. 26, 2009
What about Brighton. They are looking real good, dont underestimate them.
re:re real pg fan | 11:42 p.m. Sept. 26, 2009
I don't think anyone is underestimating Brighton. They have proven themselves enough. You have to admitt though, that they are only as good as Newell can take them. Newell can be pretty good or horrible. There's usually no in-between. Brighton's defense is very solid and very deep, but if you turn the ball over 3-4 times a game(especially in region 4) you're probably going to lose. Which Brighton has already shown by losing to Lone Peak. Personally, I see Brighton coming in 3rd in region, playing WJ in the first round and beating them. Then their next round is a toss up. If they get by the second round, they will probably play a region 4 team again(alta or PG) and be done.
16 wrong  | 9:32 a.m. Sept. 27, 2009
I was there Lone Peak had 16 not Alta get it right.
Hey alta | 4:15 p.m. Sept. 27, 2009
fans go dye your hair blond, you know the blond high lights that's what you guys like wright.
16 wrong? | 6:00 p.m. Sept. 27, 2009
What are you talking about? Are you saying Lone Peak had 16 penalties? 16 fans? What are we supposed to get right? The article states that Alta had 17 penalties, which is true because I was there. The side judge on Alta's sideline was a joke. The guy called nine or 10 penalties against Alta and one against Lone Peak. I am just a football fan, so I really could care less who was going to win, but I can almost promise you that guy has an address in Highland or Alpine after the way he called the game.

excuses | 12:38 p.m. Sept. 28, 2009
I agree, oh, boo hoo. We lost because........ No, you lost period, not because of a fluke or injuries, you lost to Bingham and Brighton because they beat you. If you are "that" good, then you should have won. Plain and simple.
re-excuses | 1:25 p.m. Sept. 28, 2009
Powerful and a well put sentence or two, geepers us Alta people are so dog gone silly. I just hope that Mr. excuses doesn't hurt anyone else's feelings.

Hopeful
Riverton 2011  | 2:49 p.m. Sept. 28, 2009
Just wanted to let Alta know that were waiting to show the rest of the state that Riverton's juniors are the real deal. We can't wait to see you Wednesday. It should be fun. I think your in for a very big surprise and you thought you took heat for what happened at Brighton just wait it's going to get worse after Wednesdays game. Hey Bingham can hear those foot steps. Some thing big and bad is closing in on you. - ET (2011 let's go)

Well. | 5:58 p.m. Sept. 28, 2009
It worked, oooohhhhh yeah!!!!
plyxply | 9:09 a.m. Sept. 29, 2009
Riverton could make this their super bowl and as banged up as Alta is, and frankly because the game really doesn't matter when you consider Alta's last three games inclue AF and PG. Not saying Alta isn't going to play to win, but this game could definitely go either way and should be fun to watch. I'm looking forward to seeing Riverton's Jr's, I know Bingham and Brighton have some incredible juniors so it will be good to compare them all.
