Great job Lakers! Defense was amazing, offense struggled, but Bonn qb had a couple great runs to get it going with two minutes left. Way to fight lakers, and again awesome D!

Great job Lakers a huge gut check to beat unbeaten Ogden. You know the saying " that sport does not give you charactor it reveals it" was true tonight...Hats off to your honorable head coach...from a Davis Dart fan strong work Lakers...Go Davis...
Ken | 11:57 p.m. Sept. 25, 2009
Great job lakers, wasnt the best but a wins a win! Defense stopped Allred, and Bonneville qb finally had a couple of great runs with a minute 30 to go to help the lakers get a td! Great job both teams way to fight!

Bonneville pulled it off, stopped Ogden from scoring all their usual points! Go Lakers Great last two minutes on the runs offense, and way to stop them again on d wow!
Football Fan | 12:17 a.m. Sept. 26, 2009
I thought this was a great overall game. Ogden outplayed Bonneville most the game, but Bonneville came up huge when it needed to. Some questionable play calls when Ogden had the ball 1st and goal from the 6.. and couldnt score. Great defense by bonneville. I thought the play that Killed Ogden was when their coach got the unsportsmanlike penalty (acting like a lunatic) on 3rd down that gave them 15 plus a 1st down! Come on coach! Let the kids decide the game! Dont let your hot headed stupidity get the best of you!

Excellent game Bonneville. Ogden has some tough games coming up... but will beat BE.
Impressive D | 1:07 a.m. Sept. 26, 2009
Give the Lakers credit...they slowed down Allred.

But let's be honest, can we? This Ogden team is over-hyped. Wins over nobodies. Bonneville is an good team, but not great.

7-6? Please!
keepinitreal | 1:14 a.m. Sept. 26, 2009
Never confuse a single defeat with a final defeat. Victory is sweetest once you've known defeat. OHS has such a great team this year. It was a good game. To win an undefeated team after that loss to northridge, touche'. Congrats Lakers! Now I cant wait to see the tigers tear up the season! I bet that QB would tear up field at WSU!
OHS | 7:42 a.m. Sept. 26, 2009
Ogden was really the only team that moved the ball consistantly. They shot themselves in the foot numerous times. Which cost then the game. How many unsportsman like penalties did they have? Too many... gotta hand it to BHS they played good defense and put alot of pressure on the QB. Which lead to Ogdens frstration.
refs | 7:57 a.m. Sept. 26, 2009
this article missed allreds first td. oh ya they wanted to make sure it was a win for the lakers tonight. great game strips

your comment doesnt make sense dont be mad because ogden finally played an average team and lost
OHS Fan | 11:27 a.m. Sept. 26, 2009
Someone will have to check the stats but OHS had FAR too many unsportsman-like conduct penalties, seem to remember a few in the Ben Lomond game also. We know you want to win, but don't like the attitude of your coach infiltrate throughout the players. And Coach E - ratchet back a little, your offensive line was terrible last night - face it! Bonneville continually got to Allred and that should not have happened so often.

so much for ogdens so called "high powered offense"
football fan | 1:28 p.m. Sept. 26, 2009
i went to the game last night with no opinion on who i wanted to win just thinking it would be a good game. i have to say ogden was a much better team, but they choked. Bonneville is great defensively with a bad offense. but i was mostly disappointed in the referee's. i was right at the goal line where ogden went on 4th and one and the ball crossed the goal line no questions asked. but i guess thats football and either way ogden shot themselves in the foot. Good luck to both teams the rest of the season!
bville fan | 1:36 p.m. Sept. 26, 2009
as much of a laker fan i am i wanted to see ogden go undefeated. bonneville has no heart and alot of talk thats what makes them a average team. good game to both teams. you can't always win from the other teams mistakes bonneville you gotta step it up
re:football fan | 5:48 p.m. Sept. 26, 2009
Yea I am sure you had a better look at it than the ref's... That is since you were right there on the field like they were. Com'on, that show little class.
Laker '98 | 8:32 p.m. Sept. 26, 2009
I'm glad we won, but I can honestly tell you Coach Budge wouldn't have wanted to win that way. The refs took that one away from the better team.
tiger fan | 11:12 p.m. Sept. 26, 2009
i have to say the lakers d was tough those kids were fast and tough. it was not fun watching ogden lose the way they did at the end but that is football, one team always loses. ogden will bounce back with some big wins the rest of the way. good game lakers.
tiger alum/laker dad | 12:16 a.m. Sept. 27, 2009
I know many of the young men on both teams well, and I know their parents well. I am a proud Tiger alum. My son is a Laker though now so I feel very qualified to voice my opinion.
Interesting note - this is the third time the two teams have met on the football field in their lives. Twice in youth league and now in high school. All three games ended in the exact same result, and I believe the exact same score 7-6 (if not exact, within a point or two).
So let's put this one to bed on this note. They are evenly matched. It was a messy game. Hard fought and defensive oriented.
BOTH groups of young men are fantastic. Both played their hearts out. Hard to see anyone lose a game like that.
Congrats Tigers, u earned much respect.
Congrats Lakers, u hung in there and won.
That game will help both teams become better.
regaurding laker 98 | 1:20 p.m. Sept. 27, 2009
What a joke refs taking it away from the better team! What game were you at? Refs about gave it to ogden just because they were undefeated, Bonn out played ogden! As soon as bonn gets some help on offensive play calling and lets their qb run they will be an awesome team! Bad Offenive play calling let them run!
Coach | 7:45 p.m. Sept. 27, 2009
Watched alot of football in my life. The best team always wins. Ogden clearly moved the ball better and seemed to have more weapons. Sad that referees are brought up - never good for the kids to think someone else is to blame. Never good for a coach to give anyone reason to think he's to blame. Nope - just a hard fought game and the team that kept it together in the last quarter won.
Hey English Major | 9:39 a.m. Sept. 28, 2009
I believe REGARDING is spell as such. By the way, the calls were fairly one sided in key situations. yes calls were made both ways, but NO Bonneville did NOT outplay Ogden. Poor vantage by people that are paid to make non-biased, objective decisions during the game. Never have i seen a LESS objective zebra-crew than on Friday night. Clear fumble called down, horrible Sportsmanlike penalties, OH and by the way the TD that apparently never was in the 2nd QTR.
Bonneville had 28 yards of offense until the last 5 minutes of the game. that is not what you call OUTPLAYING an opponent.
Anonymous | 1:24 p.m. Sept. 28, 2009
Bonneville sould have lost that game 35-7 but ogden could not score when they had to.

Ogden go's down to Provo next both teams are 5-1 if both teams play well this one could be a grate game i think Ogden will go down to Provo and get the win

Ogden 38
Provo 24

Ya thats why your anonymous anyone that is isnt worthy of being heard! Hmm wonder why ogden couldnt score when they had to hmm, give bonn defense some credit they deserve they stopped ogdens scoring big time!
to english major | 4:21 p.m. Sept. 28, 2009
Have you ever hit a wrong key or typed a wrong button, I'm sure not, right? Give Bonn the credit they deserve they shut your QB down, just like you shut ours down! Great d by both teams, it doesnt matter when bonn offense finally made a couple of great runs they did it! Dont be a poor loser it was a hard fought game by both teams! Your coach blew a gasket, and said some pretty racial comments I've heard, thats just not cool, but I will give him credit he has turned ogden around! Bonn prob has more athletes, but ogdens coach is very talented and that can get a team places, but sorry it wont be provo!
BHS Alum | 10:58 a.m. Sept. 29, 2009
I was at the game to Honor a great man and Coach! It was great to see all to old players there. ALthough I agree Ogden looked like the better team (I was impressed with their size and their QB) THe Laker D played with tremendous heart! Great game by both teams D. The refs did miss a couple calls but I saw them miss a few for Boneville as well as Ogden. If you are the better team you need to not leave it close enough for the refs to "win or lose" it for you. Good job Lakers, way to play hard with alot of emotion riding on that game!
Continue to Pay the Price and good things will happen. Thanks for the Memories Coach Budge Rest in Peace. Hip Hip Hooray Lakers!
