I wonder what will happen to Utah this coming season with their issue with Boozer..Boozer has no choice but to play well, will he play more defense this time? I hope so
Off the bench | 7:08 a.m. Sept. 25, 2009
Play Boozer off the bench, when defense is less important. Play Milsap and AK together, so AK can get some touches down low. He's really a power forward (that's when he shined with the Jazz and with the Russian team), and Boozer clogs the middle more than Milsap. Milsap, AK and Memo's games compliment each other.

Most people agree with you that Jazz are better off with Boozer than without.

It is very much like the current health care situation in the country. Price Waterhouse completed a study which shows that 50 of healthcare dollars are wasted, 75% of doctors say there needs to be reform but why do the democrats get to build the reform?

Why do we have to put up with Boozer who really wants to be somewhere else but we can really use him and he is poetry in motion inside the key on offense, something that Millsap can only dream about.

The Jazz are smart not to trade him for "Coffee grounds" (nice choice of words Brad). He has an expiring contract which even if the Jazz keep him past Feb they can use the salary cap relief more than they can use players who will only ride the bench.

What if.... he puts up the numbers we have seen him do in the past and nobody wants him next season. We know he can produce and knows our system we may have this relationship that is so over for the next 4 years. Oh please no....but maybe so

The jazz have done nothing to solve their biggest problem, INTERIOR DEFENSE. I don't understand how a team with such a defensive minded coach can play such lousy defense. Stop fouling Jazz and move your feet. The watch and reach just dosn't get it.
This team is going to be dysfunctional. AK47 is never going to develop a jump shot. If that guy could hit an outside jump shot, it would do more for the Jazz than anyone could possibly imagine. Boozer is lazy. When it comes to defense, he is just going to watch and on offense, when it is in the flow of the game he will do fine but when it is crunch time, He will just fade away.

PS: D-Will is a major stud and will not back down from anyone. He is one of the best players in the league. I just whish he would run some players off that are not willing to get behind him.
MIles | 10:32 a.m. Sept. 25, 2009
Even Brad Rock doesn't get it. Millsap at the 3? Yea right. 3's would eat him alive on the outside.

So what was left out Boozer misses 40 games due to injury. the guy is fragile, now what that is the real reason he isn't already gone.
Sokol | 12:11 p.m. Sept. 25, 2009
I agree that SLOAN and not the players made the most miserable mistakes coaching....He was constantly out coached....How can a tough defensive minded former player, Sloan, have a team that plays such lousy defense? I think that more than Boozer is the pivotal Jazz question.

Why can't they utilize both Millsap and Boozer, with Andre off the bench as the recent norm? The Center position is defensive oriented in this offense, so why not use both men; the defensive scheme should improve, which is Boozers great weakness! We have some fine guards to rotate when fatigue arises? Just a thought!
STEVE-O | 1:49 p.m. Sept. 25, 2009
Boozer will be gone by the February trade deadline. Some teams will come calling to try making a push for the playoffs or one more guy that they think will put them over the top to win a title. Boozer will be gone.
And we don't have to worry about who to start at PF because Boozer will be out for half the season with a sore pinky finger on his non-shooting hand. BAAAAH!

with the injury plagued season utah had last year there better be some quality minutes for 12 players deep...keep em all fresh for as long as ya can especiallly the road games....20 to 24 minutes a player sounds fair...and ya star he line up that is gonna jump start a game...id start off with milsap and booz...okur d-will and maYB CJ MILES OR brewer at the 2 guard spot...then again even korver could be hot hand starting...who knows but start with an up beat...they can change strting rotations frequently thru the year....

I think the starting lineup will be the same as it was last year. Miles might get ousted by AK for the starting three job, but that's the extent of change. The sad thing to me is that Kosta will still be on the bench behind boozer, okur, and millsap. I was hoping this was his year to start to shine, but it looks like it will have to wait at least one more year. Lets be honest with ourselves, the jazz will be better than they were last year, but so are most of the other playoff teams in the west. My prediction is that the Jazz finish 6th or 7th and will have a good chance to make it to the second round.

The line-up with Koufous and Millsap as a starting center and PF is craziness, the other vastly improving teams will be jumping for joy. Koufous and Millsap are not starters. I will take Okur and Boozer anyday over those two. Miles should start but AK get more minutes at the 3. Hopefuly we'll get another good role player if we loose harpring.

Okur
Boozer
Miles
Brewer
Williams

2nd Team
Koufous, Fes
Millsap
AK

Okur (will be huge this year)
Boozer (If still here)
Brewer (not a shooting guard)
Miles (more suited for the 2 spot than Brewer)
Williams (ALLSTAR)

Lets roll with it as long as Boozers here. In the 1st half of the season less defense is played anyway. We can save our studs somewhat for the 2nd half of the season and the playoffs. Trade Boozer by the deadline for some defense.
It's not complicated. . . | 8:21 a.m. Sept. 26, 2009
. . . once you accept the fact that Boozer is not a truth teller.
FDR | 1:19 p.m. Sept. 26, 2009
Koufos at starting center would be fantastic. He is the team's best shot blocker. And he would be the best big defender as well. He was incredible in Europe this summer, blocking shots. He totally dominated Marc Gasol and Nenad Krstic, and Bedrins, and if Sloan lets him play this kid will produce. Watch.
Trade Alert! | 8:13 p.m. Sept. 26, 2009
Charlotte wants to get rid of Raja Bell, and Raymond Felton. How about we take them and Gerald Wallace for A.K., Harpring and his expiring contract(that puts him close to home) and Maynor. The money works for the trade and we could use some toughness and athletism (Bell & Wallace). Felton would give us a solid back up to D-Will also. Do it Jazz.
Marty | 5:59 p.m. Sept. 27, 2009
Jackson wants to be traded from Sac. Salaries work if Curry and Claxton are traded for Boozer. Starting 5 might be:
Okur
Williams
Curry
Milsap
Miles

Boozer might fit well in a system that focuses on offense. Jackson is a good defender and would bring some toughness to the team as well as an offensive threat at the perimeter (.338 last year). His 5 rebounds would also be nice.
todd to marty | 7:55 p.m. Sept. 27, 2009
You meant Stephen Jackson from GS not Sacra. I know what you meant.

You get Curry with it, great deal...

Jackson can give about 3 more good years and can play d and bring a warrior (pardon pun) memtality. Curry might make Maynor, Price or a frontie that you could utilize in A Snoozer trade.
Like a drug | 9:16 a.m. Sept. 28, 2009
I'm so sick of Carlos Boozer. But yet I can't stop following his story it's like a drug. I know I should just stay away and not touch it, but keep coming back for more. Why can't I stop following his stupid story. I want to quit so bad!!!
todd from santa ana | 4:59 p.m. Sept. 28, 2009
I wish Kevin would find a way to get Stephen Jackson. No it is not interior defense in the front court but he can shut down scorers and bring such needed hustle, hard nosed mentality.

Only reason I brought this up again is all over the Web today how he wants out of Don NElson and the Warriors (then again who can blame him) we have salaries that could be dumped and guys they could use because they are small team for most part,

I truly believe we both have needs the other can use and would benefit from. They cannot contend with Curry and Montae starting in backcourt,
AK for SJ? | 11:43 p.m. Sept. 28, 2009
Don Nelson has always been a huge fan of AK. I imagine that that would be the more likely trade scenario for Jackson.
Oogruk | 4:54 a.m. Sept. 29, 2009
Wow, Brad Rock, not an original word or thought in that piece. Why bother to parrot the same words that have been written countless times before over the last few months?

The Jazz have the same front line that took them to Western Conference finals just a couple years back and nobody, including you, was chirping the nonsense you expressed here. Boozer is in his prime and will have a great season.

Despite all the offseason turmoil, radio shows and trade rumors, Carlos Boozer will be back in Salt Lake City and in a Utah Jazz uniform as training camp gets under way today.
