Why does it not surprise me that the governor is unable to make up his mind whether or not to be ethical.
C'mon Gary... do the right thing... it's about ethics... about taking money from special interests... sign it.
Jon Jr. I feel as a State that we just took 3 steps backwards. We need a more progressive man or woman in office.
Anyone not involved in politics knows this is a no-brainer! and thats 99% of us Governor.
Usually no one even knows who the Lieutenant Governor of the State is. He's just someone who does something, who knows what, and draws a paycheck funded by the taxpayers. And so usually it doesn't really matter who holds the office. But in this case we have found out that it truly does matter who is the Lieutenant Governor because he has become our Governor and golly, I do so wish our former Governor had given more thought to who he put in this office. How much longer do we have before he no longer is our Governor? He is totally unqualified for the office. I do so hope he doesn't do too much damage before his time is up in this office he received. You should have been more careful (former) Governor Leavitt! Look what you did to us!
Who cares if he agrees or not?
We need ethics reform 50 years ago.
I must say that I appreciate the open thought-process. It's necessary in today's ultra-informed world. We are all living in the Age of Information.
It's nice to hear Gov. Herbert loosening up on his purportedly hard-lined position on campaign reform and is openness to consider citizen initiatives. I'm willing to give him a chance. So far he's stopped from becoming a hardline conservative. Hopefully he'll become a pragmatic Governor and govern from a basis of reason rather than black and white, frozen political positions.
Sounds like Valentine supporters here.
Ethics reform is for the lazy, the founders gave us a protected media, the right to vote, and elected officials who have to seek that vote.
The combination is very effective to keep elected officials in line.
Don't take this responsibility from us and give it to some unelected panel who will be more corrupt than the representatives it's meant to oversee. I know you'll do the right thing Gary!...I hope...
