I was stuck in that jam. Geneva Rock should be fined for deciding to do such a stupid move. I can't believe my tax dollars were wasted on folks who can't tell the difference between rush hour and a more acceptable time to repave a busy, busy intersection. I watched crews casually go about their work in middle of the intersection, while the traffic light flashed red overhead. They didn't seem to care that miles of traffic were waiting on them.

So who's to blame up in Salt Lake. Yesterday AT RUSH HOUR they were paving FOOTHILL DRIVE from Research park to 1300 East and the lane restrictions and traffic jam was UNBELIEVABLE. These guys were just as stupid as the ones in Utah County. So where is the outrage for us? Have you tried to get out of Research park at rush hour? difficult on a good day, yesterday nearly impossible!

What a nice job they have done. The 8 miles that they have completed is wonderful, and I have rarely been delayed. I appreciate their hard work to complete the job on time. All of you complainers are fortunate that the construction workers don't walk by your desk on their way home and second guess your work. Funny how everyone is a suddenly a civil engineer when they are delayed one time. Wah!! Let's not forget how nice it is and will be, because I certainly remember how terrible it was !! How soon we forget. Thanks to all the construction crews and designers for their hard work. Very nice job

Bryce.... Thank you for being so optimistic! I was stuck in it for 3 hours (what should have taken 20 minutes)so I am having a hard time being positive!

Geneva Rock has been around for many years. Shouldn't a construction company that does lots of road work know how long something takes? Maybe they just don't care. When they did a section of 7th East in Sandy more than a year ago, they messed up traffic flow, left barrels up way longer than needed, and took far longer than necessary. I find it impossible to believe that they just miscalculated.

Ok, I'm from Chicago and we had either snow or construction! And being delayed for an hour?.. thats nothing!
Let them get done so winter be better driving.

people get use to it geneva roads has a gaurentee for 5 years hum should we move out of this area or learn to put up with it again other states roads last much longer and are even smoother and dont have a seem in the travel lane where your tires will catch like a rut and toss your vehicle from side to side asphalt can be laid at 42 degrees and above so maybe it should be the states call along with genevas what hours to lay down their black oil filled asphalt on our earth.
