hmmm

People will swallow anything when served with enough humor.

It was Quite a funny presentation, and a mind boggling one. It might be suggested that you add the 10 things he spoke about. I missed about half of them, because I couldn't stay. That was what I was looking for...

Small is good

Sounds like an entertaining presentation, but I wonder why the presenter thought it was so important for humans to feel that they're a "big" part of the universe. We're obviously not, and realizing this is one of the first step towards maturity, I think. We're only "big" in the sense that we could really screw up our own planet beyond recognition, but we're "small" in the sense that we would be selfish or foolish enough to want to do so.

You said his book "The Pluto Files" has generated hate mail from 3rd graders but that's incorrect... the book FEATURES hate mail from 3rd graders due to the fact Neil believes Pluto should not be a planet.

Big is good

I think "small is good" missed the point of why Tyson encouraged the students to see themselves as big in the universe. We are big because we're made up of the elements that make up galaxies, stars and planets. That makes us, in a way, a part of them. A part of something bigger!
