Ever since Mark Watkins took over this department, it has been plagued with unethical acts by officers at his direction. What protection does anyone have when the police don't obey judge's orders? Why isn't this cop and his supervisor responding to the judge from jail?
Darn. Look at all the traffic tickets that are foregone while chasing after frivolous (but normal) teen behavior.
Here we have a judge who is claiming that he verbally limited the scope of a search warrant, and he is asking a prosecutor to back him up with a statement of his recollection of a conversation.
Any good judge would know that if he wants to limit a search warrant's scope, he needs to put that limitation in writing as part of the warrant.
A 12 year old does not have the capability to engage in those kinds of acts. A juvenile preying on a child. What about other victims? At what point is it not appropriate to take action to protect a child? Roger has a point..you limit, in writing, the scope of the warrant. This isn't good ole boys behaving bad, this is a cop doing a good job and a judge hiding behind "but I didn't say that" line. We don't take it from anyone else of what I said goes, we get it in writing. Why wouldn't a judge? But the bottom line..WHERE ARE THE PARENTS and WHY ARE THEY NOT MONITORING THEIR CHILD? Manny is a good mann and a better cop.
The scope of warrants are limited by indicating specifics as to the place to be searched and the evidence sought. A judge does not have to further limit it by excluding items/places not named in the warrant.
