Great Job. Have a great time.
That's a great deal that. Pay $150 to have your kid try out for the team when they already know dang well who they're sending... the kids, like Keyes, who have the right last name.
Sour grapes maybe, but no getting around it.
Kavin is a great BB player and a great teacher. Congrats. I'm sure Bobby is very proud!
Thats amazing in so many ways?
coulda seen that coming?
Scary!
Sad to see this kinda stuff. Havn't we all seen politics ruin a nice kid and a athlete before.
Do you ever wonder why some of these dads who are connected can't see the mistake of settin their kid up?
I am sitting here trying to remember one kid who this kinda stuff actually worked for and helped out in the long run?
Hope it works out for Kavin!
Despite what people may think, Kavin works harder on his game than the next ten kids combined. He DOESN'T have many of the physical abilities of gifted athletes. He's small, slow and not at all mobile. He makes up for that with hard work, practice, practice and yet more practice. This kid has EARNED the opportunities he gets. He outworks the more gifted, out practices the less dedicated, and other kids (and their parents) would be better advised to follow his example than complaining about his success.
Thanks Dad Luv ya!
When Kav was a freshman, we walked him intentionally in the state tournament to load the bases to pitch to the next kid in the order. Enough said. People need to quit getting on him. He has worked to get to where he is. Get your kid to work that hard and good things will come their way too. Knowing that he has committed to Oregon State with their 2 national titles, I would guess they were more impressed with his abilities than his name.
Obviously, there are some out there who believe Kavin earned his spot to represent the USA because of who his Father is. Apparently, these people don't know how hard this kid works...EVERY SINGLE DAY!! He earned this by hard work, dedication and MANY, MANY hours of preparation! For those of you who don't believe this to be true, I welcome you to review the stats from the trials and you will see Kavin's accomplishment is well deserved. I am saddened and disgusted that society cannot just give credit where credit is due. Kavin is not only a phenomenal baseball player, but an outstanding kid who is worthy of this amazing opportunity!!!
Obviously most of you do not know what it takes to make this team. This team is NOT choosen by the Baseball Academy. The Academy just gives anyone who wishes the opportunity to do so. There are MANY levels of try-outs to make this team. The players are annalized by baseball perfessionals from around the country not just UT. This honor is earned by someone not just given to them. He did not choose his Dad, who by the way has helped many Utah kids achieve great things. The fact of who his Dad is makes playing the sport he loves 10x harder than it does for the average high school player. Please don't take something away from a kid because he has worked hard and is dedicated to a sport he loves.
For those of you who don't believe that Kavin earned this, I welcome you to review the stats from the trials and you will see that this opportunity was well deserved!! He is not only a phenomenal baseball player, but an INCREDIBLE kid who works at this EVERY SINGLE DAY!! I am saddened that society cannot just give credit where credit is due. I congratulate him on a job well done and wish him the best at this AMAZING opportunity to represent the USA!!!
Keyes? Blood line......?
What are you talking about?
Is he running for POTUS? Keyes? is he related to Alan Keyes?
Is he Pete Rose Keyes son Or Babe Ruth Keyes grandson?

They are all the same person. It should be pretty obvious from the same comments about how hard he works. Or maybe by the use of ALL CAPS at times followed by the exclamation mark. Oh not just one, but '2'of them. CAN you BELIEVE that!!
We get it Keyes family member. ONE posting is sufficient!!
The second posting by "shocked" was an error and is the same individual. However, AltaFan and Baseball Fan are just others who recognize an athlete deserving recognition. Sorry you are not capable of the same. Good luck to you and your Son. :)
I am NOT a member of the Keyes family. I am just a long time support of high school baseball. I have multiple family memebers that have benefitted from the Baseball Academy. I know that it takes hard work and dedication to be able to go this far. Who wouldn't be proud of someone from our state representing the USA. We should be cheering them on not placing judgement because we are jealous.
Actually I only made one post. And I didn't use a single exclamation point. I did use caps because I thought the truth required emphasis. Look, my kid works on the same team, and works hard. But Kav works harder. No matter how much my kid has done or is doing, Kav works harder. I think my kid is a better athlete, but in baseball hard work can outshine. Kav is a switch-hitter and probably has the best swing in High School baseball in Utah. My kid's hands are faster, but Kav is more consistent. I remain convinced that no-one gave Kavin Keyes anything. He EARNED it. Or, should I say to the conspiratorial theorist: "He EARNED it!!" (There's some exclamation points for you.)
It seems no parents can give credit where credit is do. This has nothing to do with the baseball academy or bob keyes. I am not a big fan of the baseball academy. But after watching Kavin play and expecially in the state semi final game when Alta played us he got to 4 or 5 balls I don,t know if anyone else could get to and got I think 3 hits. I love a kid that works hard. I wish parents didn,t need to put someone down in order to build their own kids up.
Great for the state of Utah, Hope he plays well like Littlewood Did last year, best of luck and play hard. Oregon State's baseball program is going down a little, they won the two World series with the best pitching staff in college, they better start recruiting the big pitchers out of Texas and CA and stop going after Utah's best, like Nash. Why can't BYU recruit some of the best kids in Utah, they go after the 4th tier players in CA, Utah does it, the kid that was a freshman last year from Skyline sure put up some good numbers with Utah, he is a good ball player(Yato? not sure his last name)
Good Luck to the Keyes kid, it is great for Utah.
Go Kavin, you rock :) We're all very happy for you.
