Looks like another lose for Utah.
We'll read all week about how tough the Louisville football team is and how it will be a battle for Utah, but "THE TRUTH" is that Louisville stinks and if Utah doesn't win by 21 I'll be surprised. Remember that on Saturday.
THE TRUTH
Yes, you will hear about how Louisville is a better team than Utah and the reason will be because--wait for it--they are. When Louisville loses it's because they play actual teams that are demonstrated contenders. When Utah loses it's to teams that get worked over by a WAC darling. Honestly, if Utah were really all that good with returning players with gametime experience then shouldn't they have obliterated Oregon? What's that? They didn't? Why that must mean that Utah isn't that good much like the Michigan team they beat last year. And this is coming from someone who dispises the Cards.
Both Oregon and Utah looked sad! Oregon ran the draw or keep almost every play of the game!... and Utah couldn't stop it! The Oregon QB couldn't hit the broad side of the barn. Cain can't throw over ten yards, unless the coverage is seriously blown.
Sorry, but when Utah plays a team with a any kind of passing game, they will be humiliated!
Both these teams were horrible!
Utah needs an offense! They can't expect to throw the quick slant or in the flats every single pass play.
If Utah can't challenge the field vertically, they have no chance at all!
Asiata isn't as good as expected either.
Don't justify Utah in your mind, they DOOMED!!!
The offense misses the game prep/game calling from Ludwig. We need a QB that can throw, come on in Jordan!.
I thought it couldn't get any worse when Ludwig was here but apparently I was wrong.
The new offensive coordinator is even worse! But what do you expect from someone that graduated from the school of Ludwig. Absolutely atrocious.
Kyle it is time to higher outside of the friendly connection and find someone that can call plays.
Yeah that 4th down call was one of the dumbest play calls ever. Same thing last week when Asiata badly overthrew Cain. Every game they have been stopped inside the 5 yard line. Quit passing on first every series and getting into third and longs. We'll see if he can turn things around. Got to give the guy a chance, but as of now I have no confidence.
Louisville is a good team and they played well against kentucky. Your comments about how Utah is not any good... well they lost at least 3 head coaches that I know about. Utah also lost their quarterback, running back, and the 3 best receivers. Not to mention Paul Krueger and several seniors who were on the line. Of course they are not the team that played last year, if they were then your team would be in for a punishment this year. Thank your lucky stars that last years team is not playing your team this year. Good luck, see you at the game.
It's so very obvious the loss of Andy Ludwig is huge. Without Ludwig the Utes offense is boring to watch, has no life, and is very predictable. Ludwig has proven himself to be a great offensive coordinator/quarterback coach @ Fresno State,Oregon,Utah, and now will help vault the California Bears to top of the Pac-10. Take this to the bank,at the end of this season Cal will be the top offense in the Pac-10,in 2-3 years they'll be one of the top 10 offenses in the nation. Utes should've done everything possible to keep Ludwig around. If they had, they would have crushed the Ducks.
@ The Actual Truth
Dude, what are you even talking about? This comment was just fantastic.
"When Louisville loses it's because they play actual teams that are demonstrated contenders."
That is fantastic because it can be proven wrong by citing last week's loss to Kentucky. Since when has anyone labeled Kentucky a "demonstrated contender." In fact if my memory serves me correctly, Utah has played in and won more BCS games than Kentucky has even sniffed. Just because a team plays in a BCS conference, it doesn't make them a "demonstrated contender." Otherwise crap like Washington St., Northwestern and Iowa St. is getting a whole lot more credit than they deserve.
Let's see, what other "demonstrated contenders" has Louisville lost to over the years: Syracuse (nothing says demonstrated contender like a 28-58 record over the past 7 years), Rutgers (had one great year, now back to mediocrity), I mean come on? Don't be like every other BCS honk and blast a small school for not going undefeated every year. Utah is a fine program and you could argue its just as accomplished as half of the BCS schools out there.
The truth is, Utah has had far more success than any program in Kentucky.
I have been a Louisville fan for years. Eventhough it pains me to say this, I don't think Louisville has a chance. Granted, they had about a 10 year run when they were competitive, but those years are far away in the rear view mirror. I lived in Utah for 12 years and have enjoyed the Utes run lately. Just because the Utes lost last week doesn't mean that they will lose this week. Every team has an "off" game. Louisville has had the last 3 season as "off" seasons. Big difference! Here's hoping that Louisville pulls off the miracle!!!
You must be joking, or you are Andy Ludwig's agent.
Go back and watch last years games. I'll bet over 60% of the games started with a sweep to Castel. Every week, same thing.
The only time Ludwig was a good OC was in the 2-minute drill, when Brian Johnson made the calls on the field.
FYI - Cal will be a great offense because they have the best RB in the country. Regardless of what Ludwig does to deter them.
the utes will pull off another scheduling coup. Michigan was a loser last year and you got props for beating a bad team. This year the cardinals lost to Kentucky, who only plays basketball. No big deal beating this team!
Haven't read one of these comment threads in a long time...now I recall why. Such negativity. Y'all have short memories and unrealistic expectations. This program continues to build and build. Keep your ridiculous comments to yourself and don't come back when greatness is here again.
You mean like the Y getting bumped 11 spots in the polls for beating OU who lost their Heisman Trophey winning QB for the entire second half, and had to start a kid who was taking is very first snaps in DI football?
I swear; if the UTE football team was as negitive as the UTE fans that comment on these boards. UTAH would be the basement of MWC football. It's a good thing these people don't have any real inpact on the outcome of these games. CAN YOU GUYS EVEN HOLD DOWN A JOB?????
