I Love The Aggies

How come no TV? Two Utah teams, though one is very weak. I would love to see one of the local stations pick this up.

Aggies

Great job Aggies! Let's make sure to show our support by showing up this Saturday at Romney Stadium.

Lifetime Aggie

Go Aggies! This was a good showing. Lets keep improving each week.

Bottom Line

The year 2008 start out 0-2
The year 2009 start out 0-2

Someone show me the IMPROVEMENT, I see the same numbers. The bottom line is they have not won yet, there is no improvement. You must WIN games to improve.

This is a business, winning is everything! Improving, that means you kiss your sister, winning means you take the prom queen home.

Uncle Mars' comments:

- I wish KJZZ would pick up USU games like they did in the recent past.

- Coach AndersEn (E not O) puts the emphasis on Defensive speed, so we have a ton of JUCO and formerly offensive players playing defense for us. Those guys are only going to get better - and we need them to. You can't give up 500+ yards of offense and expect to win.

- Stanley Morrisson just might be our WR that Borel can look to. Let's hope they can connect a few times at SUU to build some confidence.

- USU needs to whoop SUU to build confidence, which won't be a foregone conclusion - SUU has a great quarterback. (I forget his name...)

- All my fellow Aggie fans need to come out and support on Saturday.

- All my fellow Aggie fans need to not discuss a USU bowl appearance until we've won a few games.

That's it for today.

Re: Bottom Line

That's too coarse a metric to measure improvement.

USU needs to climb out of a long barrel. Here are just a few of the ways they've improved:

- 500+ yards of offense against the U.
- Turbin getting more yards than Borel
- Loss margin tightening
- Better discipline, resulting in fewer turnovers

Be patient. This will translate to wins. Perhaps not this year, but it will come.

Ross

The wins are on the way! Go Aggies!

We Aggies fans should be grateful the game with SUU isn't on TV so we won't be more embarrassed when we get beat.

Re; Anonymous

I wish you Ute fans would get over your bitterness of losing Anderson and stop pretending to be Aggie fans.

I'm an Aggie alum who really hasn't followed the team much and even I can tell the difference in this year's team. These Aggies might not end up having a winning season, but at least they're competitive.

Against SUU they'll probably give us a nice blowout.

USU

Go true blue

we are in it to win it!

KJZZ

I find it funny that KJZZ will go and cover a highschool game every week but they can't pick up USU games as well. Come on KJZZ show the aggies

Third downs

We still have some improvement to be made in 3rd down conversions. 5 out of 30 is not good.

Re: Bottom Line

First of all they played two games!! Wait until the end of the season to make such a rediculous claim. And second, re-building this team will take time. Wins over programs like A&M or Utah would have been impressive but weren't likely. Improvement doesn't happen overnight, it happpens gradually and over time.

Remember KState?

K State was in a "rut" for quite some time.

1983 - 3 and 8
1984 - 3 and 7 and 1
1985 - 1 and 10
1986 - 2 and 9
1987 - 0-10-1
1988 - 0-11
1989 - 1-10 Bill Snyder's first year
1993 - Copper Bowl
10 Consecutive Bowl games - streak ending in 2003.

Go Aggies- you can work your way into a winning tradition again. It takes time, but it is worth it. Use K-State as a modern example.

P.G. Viking

I have been to Junior days and trips up to Utah State and I just want to say that this coaching staff is what will turn the Ags around. The Aggies have always had problems on the offensive line, and with the addition of Coach Gerke, I can see the instant improvement in the Aggies' big boys. ya the Ags lost to Utah and A&M, but we all know they played better than we've seen in a long time. When we get into the WAC play,I am confident the Ags will start poppin out the wins.

Aggie Watcher

Not many teams in the country would start out different than 0-2 playing Utah and A@M away for the first 2 games. If you can't see improvement in many area for this years Aggie team your not looking at the big picture and you know nothing about sports. Aggie fans need to support the team and fill the stands. Coach A, the staff and the kids are headed in the right direction and will win some games this year. Keep it up USU.

Oh brother

Nothing short of a win is considered improvement? In the past you knew USU was headed to A&M to get whupped 56 to 10. To keep the score close, have a 100+ yard running day against a traditional power house (not even BYU or Utah can boast that accomplishment too often against similar competiition) and have players on the field that were athletically competitive is a relief to watch.
When you are building a team from the bottom of the barrel the offense usually comes first. You get going by outscoring some of the bigger names, than the recruiting kicks in and the defense starts to come along also. Look at Boise, the only way they got a name was to beat a couple big teams 56 to 54, now they can compete with most teams on both sides of the ball. It will come for us also if the administration and donors will back it up with their dinero.

Dear Aggie Watcher

After two games I have only seen the same thing I saw last year . . . just about . . . stupid mistakes . . . Stupid mistakes . . . stupid mistakes and stupid mistakes. I sometimes wonder how some of these kids at USU were able to get into college at all. Stupid mistakes . . . Stupid mistakes . . . when it comes right down to it, only the players can make the difference in winning and losing. But, it won't happen as long as there a more stupid mistakes . . . stupid mistakes . . . nothing is going to change in Logan until these kids stop make stupid mistakes . . . poor tackeling . . . dropped passes . . . fumbles . . . line penitration . . . QB sackes . . . missed assignments. The only difference between good college football teams and USU is stupid mistakes.

Looking forward

Aggies are definately getting better. Going up against Utah, Texas A&M, So. Utah, and BYU before conference games start will give them great experience and opportunities to improve. Looking forward to their conference games.

re: I love the Aggies

I see two bad Utah teams playing. One is on ESPN's waiting of list the 10 worst teams in the nation.

The other bad Utah team just racked up over 400 passing yards on the road. It will be a great shootout!
