It is nice to see Hamilton back on his feet and contributing. He is a great kid on and off the field, plus he is a work horse. Go Provo

Provo is coming home to its place in the rankings. It looks like it will be homecoming from now on.

Maybe you can teach an old dog new tricks! Provo actually ROTATED the line!
Good Job! That did make a difference for your players! You were actually able to stop the other team from scoring in the 2nd half because your line was fresh!
*Maka* | 8:32 a.m. Sept. 19, 2009
Maka--
Wow! The kid has some major talent! I love to watch him play. He is amazing fast.
Has he been signed yet?
Provo | 9:23 a.m. Sept. 19, 2009
Hamilton is Ok, but it is Maka who is the superstar and the difference in the team.
#76 I don't know who you are but you are terible, STOP holding. You are killing the team with all the holding calls you get!
Re: Provo | 11:26 a.m. Sept. 19, 2009
One of the holding penalties which actually killed a long run by Hamilton was on #56 who happens to be a team captain and all-state selection. Before we call somebody terrible, especially a fine quality young man that #76 is, maybe you should get your facts straight. FYI-- I'm also a big fan of #56, he is a great kid and football talent but just got caught breaking the rules.

76 is kyle!!!!
PROVO-GIRL | 1:19 p.m. Sept. 19, 2009
So proud of the success the Bulldogs have had. A combination of a great coaching staff and talented kids with HEART has been an amazing recipe for some awesome games and much needed wins. Unufe, Pope, Hamilton, Cobb, or Larsen it doesn't matter who's name is called or who put up the numbers on the score board, it's a team win.
BULLDOG PRIDE!!!!!!
T wolf fan | 2:30 p.m. Sept. 19, 2009
Congrats to the bulldogs. Good game and the players showed class. Your announcer on the other hand totally lacked class. He was obnoxious the whole game and the play where he called for an instant replay is where our player broke his neck due to a spear by a Provo player. Bad form announcer. Raise your game to the level of your players.
Timpview Loyalist | 5:15 p.m. Sept. 19, 2009
Oh No! provo is looking good this year!
Provo PA guy | 11:12 p.m. Sept. 19, 2009
A PA announcer should never say that a call by an official is "controversial". Maybe on TV, but not at the stadium. That's out of place. He was very tacky all night. Just announce the game, credit the players and quit trying to be funny.
Win is a win | 9:50 a.m. Sept. 21, 2009
It was a good win for Provo, but Timpanogos had too many penalties and turnovers. If they played again this week, Timp probably wins. Just a very undisciplined game by the TWolves. Good job provo.
re;Win is a win | 2:15 p.m. Sept. 21, 2009
Stay classy up there Timpanogos. Stay classy.
Re: Provo, Timp fan | 7:09 a.m. Sept. 22, 2009
Super Star? He's a VERY raw talent. Granted he's got speed and strength but, he runs the wrong routs, just in our game he had 2 screens designed for him and he didn't even look back for the passes? He was CAUGHT FROM BEHNIND and tackled at he 2 yard line. He was tackled more than once going one one one in open field. On defense he was out run by our running back for a score and on several plays made the wrong read on runs and passes. Raw Talent, Yes. Superstar???
Re: Provo | 7:20 a.m. Sept. 22, 2009
Why the hate for Hamilton? Looks like you have a love affair with Maka! You don'thave to put another player down to try to make Maka look good. Hamiliton is running with power and passion. The line play was markedly improved last week. Good run and passs blocking. Griner wasn't flushed out of the pocket every play from the weak side. Griner had some good passes (4) in and out of the hands of the recievers. One interception was caused because the pass went right thru "superstars" hands into a defenders. Everybody has their moments. Give props to all and move on. Go Provo!! All of you players are improving. Keep fighting!
Good Job Provo | 7:55 a.m. Sept. 22, 2009
Good job PROVO! Timp did a really good job of bringing down their varsity players to play on the JV and Sophmore teams Thursday.
Re: Provo | 8:21 a.m. Sept. 22, 2009
Why put down Hamilton after every game? Your love affair with Maka is obvious but you don't have to put down others to make him look good. Hamilton is running with passion and power. The whole team, for the most part, did better this week. The line was markedly impproved. Griner wasn't chased out of the backfield on every play because of breakdowns on the weak side O-line. 4 passes were in-and-out of recievers hands. 1 interception was becausse it went right thru "superstars" hands. Rhineer had a couple of catches. D-line and backers continue to hit hard and improve. Wow what a kicking game (all 5 of you kickers). Griner had a good game passing, running, punting, and holding for FG's and extra points. Keep working hard. Go Provo!
RE: Provo | 11:14 a.m. Sept. 22, 2009
Sounds like you have a love affair with Hamilton!
No doubt their are good players on the team. But, seriously who are the D-1 teams looking at?
Provo would not be winning without Maka
Re: Provo | 11:57 a.m. Sept. 22, 2009
Provo would not be winning or losing without Maka.

I'm not sure that D1 schools read these comments so if you are using this forum to promote your boy while ignoring the rest of the high school team, it's probably falling on deaf ears and annoying the rest of this good team and their families.
Timpview fan | 12:19 p.m. Sept. 22, 2009
Seems like some of you parents are Jealous of a boy with some real talent. How many touch downs has he made for Provo? 11?
Face the facts--He is the best player on the team. But even with Maka-Timpview will win Provo. Your line will cannotcompete with Timpview, Mountain Crest, Pine View, or any other top ranked 4-A school.
Re: Timpview fan | 1:13 p.m. Sept. 22, 2009
How did timpview miss out on recruiting Maka from Provo.

Looks like you could have used him to beat us.

P.G. fan
Re: Provo | 1:56 p.m. Sept. 22, 2009
1. Serious! D1 school DON'T recuit from the comment section from the DN! You mean they recuit based on talent? Is that why they are looking at Maka 4.3 40 and 11 TD? Good to know; thanks for clearing that up! "promote" him Whatever! He promotes himself.
2.Maybe the other players are not news worthy. All the articles I've read in the papers focus on Maka. In fact, there was a big picture of him and a story in the Daily Hearld--right there in Provo UT.
3.Saying Hamilton is "OK" is a put down--You are sensitive--maybe you should not read the comments!
4.What in the @#$# does GOOD FAMILIES have to do with FOOTBALL?

Re: TV fan | 2:14 p.m. Sept. 22, 2009
TV did miss out on Maka! TOO bad for him because; if he had played for Timpview instead of Provo he would already be siged!!
Thoughts on Maka and stuff | 6:21 p.m. Sept. 22, 2009
Maka is a great talent but I think all the D-1 talk and stuff should settle down a bit. It is likely that he will have to go the JC route first.

Kyler Hamilton is a solid athlete. He has fought some injuries but seems to be getting healthier. He is a good solid runner, more of a bruiser at this point then a runner that will run by you or juke you out. But he has decent vertical speed and good power.

As valuable as Maka is to Provo's attack, Matt Griner is equally as important. He really manages the offense well and after two previous years as a starter he knows the game. He is a great athlete with good leadership skills.

Provo does have great size on their line. They aren't in the best of shape but the coaches have been smarter rotating them in. They probably should rest Maka here or there so he can make it through all the game. Cooler weather and getting in game shape will help. This kid goes all out but he has shown a propensity to cramp up.

Provo should go 8-2.

Good solid win, it is awesome to see a talented provo team with good leadership. Everyone keep it up and go get them.
FOOTBALL FAN | 9:45 a.m. Sept. 24, 2009
Provo has a talented team, and I think the coach's are learning how to use their talent finally.Maka and Hamilton and little Unufe are great players keep it up.Coach's half time is to pump up your player and make adjustments. There is alot of talented kids that have worked there buts off since tenth grade try to mix it up Pope good luck
peacemaker | 12:26 a.m. Sept. 25, 2009
First of all football is a team sport. Everyone on the Provo team is AWESOME and they contribute in one way or another. I'm reading all of the comments made by everyone and need to remind you all that they play the game cause they love the sport whether they are good or not. No one needs to promote anyone because their talent speaks for themselves on the field. So if one person gets more publicity than another on the team everyone should just be happy for that person. They obviously had a good night. Remember. You're talent are shown on the field. So get out there, do your best, have good sportsmanship, and have fun.
FOOTBALL FAN | 9:10 a.m. Sept. 25, 2009
Maka is not playing tonight? hurt shoulder? Bulldogs lets show the region its a team sport. Maka is a major loss to a team but lets step it up.USE THE OTHER WEAPON ON THE TEAM
Agree! | 11:22 a.m. Sept. 25, 2009
Most of the articles I have read about Maka is about talented young man who has been able to over come challages in his life. Why are some of the comments so rude and involve other people tring to mention other players?
The articles were not about Provo beating Timpview or any other team. They were not about not enough attention being given to the other players!
I say congratulations to Maka on turning your life around. You do have a lot of talent in football. Use your talent to get a head in life and in school. Your talent will provide you with many opportunities.
Football Parent | 11:29 a.m. Sept. 25, 2009
I agree! Provo has a lot of talent on their team. So do all the other teams in the region. However, everyone seems to have lost sight that theses are high school boys who just love to play football. So many of you are so concerned about who's in the paper, who gets the most attention, and winning.
There are SENIORS on the PROVO who are talented, played since they were freshman and SIT on the SIDELINES. I say to the PROVO coaches that it SAD!
What is your problem? ROTATE some of the players! Everyone needs a chance. Most of them will not play past high school, even if it just one or two plays a GAME! Coaches,PARENTS and TEAM--show some class let All the seniors have some playing time.
To Maka | 1:00 p.m. Sept. 25, 2009
You have an amazing God given talent. Use it! There will always be people that try to bring you down or change your focus to other things.
Use your talent to get ahead in your life and your education! Your talent will provide you with these opportunities if you stay focused. Football is great but education will stay with you for all of your life.
You play with class and sportmanship. Continue to be an example for your younger siblings, family, and the Provo High Team!
Lehi Parent | 7:49 p.m. Sept. 26, 2009
I don't have a kid playing on the Lehi team but I wanted go cause I've heard alot of about Maka Unufe. I was disappointed that he didn't suit up. But I must say. It was good for him to rest his body. He will need it for next week.
I met a Unufe family member last night and I must say...I can understand why the boys are the way they are. They have big family support and they show their support by wearing "got unufe" shirts. I must say, it was classic. Unufe's mother is very verbal when cheering and I love to hear her opinion after a flag has been thrown. It was good to see younger Unufe sharing his talent out there. Keep up the great work Provo.
Bulldog | 11:10 a.m. Sept. 28, 2009
For those of you who tought we couldn't win without Maka well guess what we just won 33-0 without him
Bulldog | 11:10 a.m. Sept. 28, 2009
thought not tought
re: Bulldog | 11:20 a.m. Sept. 29, 2009
Why the hate for one of your own. Your team needs help. Maybe Provo needs a sports psychologist. Parent's and fans really come off as tring to ONE-UP each other instead of playing as a team and being happy for others success.
re: Bulldog | 7:01 a.m. Sept. 30, 2009
Wow! That's a little over the top! Yes, the team won without Maka. Okay. Maka is an impact player and only makes the team better when he plays.

It was good to see other players step up and see continued improvment and hard play by each individual and the team as a whole.

Here's a shout out to Maka and any other injured Provo player. Hope your recovery is quick and that you are out on the field helping your team soon.
