what an awesome school I am from the class of 2009 and I am so glad that I went to that school. It is historic and definitely needs to be renovated to keep it in good condition. I hope people will donate money as I know I will.

So Worth It!! | 6:14 a.m. Sept. 19, 2009
This building is an absolute Art Deco style icon. It's world-famous. It's beautiful. It's worth it to save it and rennovate it for the next 40-50 years. We're so much the less for just tearing down our heritage to save a few dollars...It takes away a deep richness that becomes even more valuable in time. Just think of the old JC Penney building on Washington ave... torn down for a 1980's mall, that is now just a bad memory..and fleeting. If we still had JCPenney building, with it's 1880's style, it would be a tremendous boon to the community.

This school is a symbol of socialism. Ogden High School was built has an WPA project. The back biters of the era, in Ogden, called Ogden High "the million dollar school with a two bit student body."

OHS was very advanced. The school came with it's own radio station.

I looked at OHS website. I was amazed how little it this school's history was preserved. I grew up hearing a rich oral tradition of Ogden's history.

What I consider is the most beautiful and unique school in the entire state of Utah was designed by my own grandfather, Leslie Hodgson. His daughter was my mom. I lived two houses away from his wife, my grandma, on Marilyn Drive, in Ogden for several years, until she passed away. I never met Leslie, but I was told he was a great man. He also was the architect of the Ogden City Hall, and many other unique structures in Weber County. The art deco style got raves throughout the country, and is still one of the finest high schools I have ever seen. Unfortunately, we moved, and I went to Ben Lomond High School and graduated as a Scot, not a Tiger. I am proud to be Leslie Hodgson's grandson, and someday in heaven I hope to get to know him.

The new lunch room is seen at Ogden High. Ogden School District launched its capital campaign Friday morning to raise up to $15 million to restore the historic elements of the art deco school, which was built in 1936.
