The left of center complaints of the protests today seem, as this article states, must not have heard of the 60s and early 70s protests. When Polosi complains of today's protests, it seems she that must have been on the opposite line of the police lines in the sixties.

Just as the protesters of 40 years ago protested the actions of Pres. Johnson and Nixon, the protesters today, who have been far less violent, are protesting President Obama.

Pres. Obama seem to be reaching for far more political power than Nixon ever dreamed of. We will have to wait until the end of his first term to see just how far past the law and the Constitution Pres.Obama will try to reach.

At least Nixon did not have total control of Congress, as does Obama, making today's situation more dangerous.

Great column by both of you! Thanks for admitting, Frank, that Clinton forever lowered the standard. LaVar is right, this is nothing like the 60's, it's stronger. As a matter of fact, the largest Anti-Vietnam War protest drew less than half the amount on 9/12. This is a real ground swell. The mushy middle isn't mushy any more. BHO may be a fine man, a good father, and well-meaning, but there are too many of us who will not let this country go to the ash heap of history that is the result of far-left policies.

So let's see . . . protests against health care reform to provide access to affordable, quality care to all Americans can be equated with protests against a war that killed hundreds of thousands of people history has judged to be a huge mistake. And the protests 9/12 drew twice as many people? I really don't understand this pride is promoting hate and ignorance.
