After reading other reviews and other critics' comments I am inclined to believe that 2 stars is giving this movie too much credit for being ok .
I thought it was a great movie. Give it a chance. I was pleasantly surprised.
It was so awful, so sickly sweet and completely predictable. I couldn't help but roll my eyes several times (and I'm one of the least cynical people!), and it felt like they were exploiting grief to make some sappy romance and thereby cheapening the whole process. It had no integrity, dignity, depth, or honest emotion; it was entirely manipulative, cliched, trite and formulaic. Yuck. Aniston does have pretty blue eyes, though : ) I just don't know how movies like this get churned out, or why actors that are better than the material agree to act in them. Boo.
This movie should be called "Death Happens." It was pretty much a bummer of a movie and not the romantic comedy that the adds made it out to be. Pretty cliche as well. Ekhart was good but the material was pretty weak. I recommend avaoiding this one.
