Brooks is good yes, but he's no match for the Oregon secondary. Those guys are much more physical and faster.
Are you talking about the Oregon secondary that makes up a pass defense that is one of the worst in the nation? Brooks and the others will be fine. We only need to worry about keeping their QB in check. The Ducks are due for a big game but their secondary is not what we need to worry about.
Go away Cougar troll!!
You mean like the very overmatched Alabama defense that he played against? Or the amazing Tcu defense that he played against? Every team Utah seems to play is more physical and faster, keep telling yourselves that zoobies. You have been saying it the past 16 games and it has not worked yet.
while the Bougar troll needs to leave, keep in mind that this is a new season, and that it is almost impossible for our utes to go undefeated back to back seasons. They have 16 games under their belt now, but eventually their going to lose one. Even BYU will eventually lose. Regardless of what the zoobs say.
That person never said they were a Cougar fan. Don't just assume
Brooks and the Utes are going to get "Drilled" this week. With a capital D. - - -Drilled- - -. But, they are well on their way to 7-5. . . .
16 games won in a row. I don't think utah is ever going to lose another game, ever. Just so...dang...good.
See the Sep 16 story with the headline "Utah Utes Volleyball: Oregon Too Much For Utes"? Hang onto that headline DNews cuz it'll save you some time Saturday evening. All you'll need to do is replace part of ONE word in it: take out "volley" and put in "foot".

The Oklahoma matchup was the most lopsided you've had in a while. But BwhineU squeeked out by one point and now is calling for the NC. There is no reason to believe that Utah isn't supposed to win this game. They are the higher ranked team and have proven wins this past year. They didn't execute last week (despite leading the MWC in yards) but are still the favorites and better team. TDS just because you won a close game to OK (who will struggle this year) doesn't mean that Utah will lose to a team that they are better than. You should talk....
I'd like to see Brooks and Christopher take more of the sweeps that Castel ran last year. Those plays were not always extremely successful, but they do keep the DE and LB honest and spread out.
I look for Utah to open the playbook a little more this week, and start including sweeps to the WR and trying to get the ball downfield more to Reed.
What works in favor of the Utes is that Oregon doesn't want to throw the ball, they want to run every play. Utah's defensive strength right now if stopping the run. Keeping the QB in the pocket will be a big challenge and could decide the game.
And to the hopeful Courgar fan at 9:01....Oregon couldn't "Drill" a very average Big 10 team at home after a pathetic showing in Boise. Don't see them doing that this week. But you can always hope. Your team is ranked #7 in the nation and your own a Utah article praying for them to lose? Guess we know who is the big brother know!
RE: loose moose... still haven't put your money where your mouth is huh?
Based on the comment, it's pretty obvious that we're dealing with a cougar fan. They are, unfortunately, a common niusance around here.
I can't help but think there is a possibility (although slim) that Utah could find a way to win an ugly game in Oregon AND we could lose a close one to Florida State in Provo. that would be a nightmare! but might happen
Have you even see this kid play? He can flat out fly down the field. League City, Texas representing! JB has some of the nicest parents in the world. I've interacted with them several times - at the Poinsettia Bowl, @ AFA '08, Sugar Bowl and now @ SJSU '09. You can tell he had a great upbringing. So all you haters keep telling us how JB isn't big enough, quick enough or tough enough. You can already ask the Michigan, Alabama, and Oregon State secondary how that workded out? Go UTES and GO #85!
Good information. I love a blogger who contributes intelligently and doesn't sling mud and "Bougars" out there so they can impress themselves.
I think U's D will step up and do a good job on the run and the QB.
Funny thing about you Mountain people is that if someone says something you disagree with you automatically assume they are from BYU or visa versa.
Don't you know there is a much bigger and better world outside of your little space?
Go PAC-10
By the way, no dis to Brooks. I said he was good. Just not good enough.
We're not all trolls. And please don't bring up one or two examples of flukes. Look at the bigger picture baby. You gotta fly up where the Ducks fly to see the WHOLE picture.
"There is no reason to believe that Utah isn't supposed to win this game."
Sure there is. For one thing, yootah didn't look good against doormats USU and SJSU. For another thing, Oregon is much better than USU or SJSU. And did you read the article "Oregon's Offense a Puzzle"? At the end it says "Oregon is 28-2 against non-conference opponents – and 5-0 against those that were ranked – at Autzen Stadium since 1995."
Oregon 24, yootah 10
