I'm going to be watching this case and if the judge doesn't give this guy prison, he needs to be voted out.. How many women have been killed because the justice system will not take guys like this serious.
I hope the judge will look at this case as if this women was his own daughter. The description of what took place shows that this creep is capable of anyting.

Kinda hard to realise just how sick some people can be...

Sadly the jails and prisons are so full now, that violent criminals like this man - ultimately go free to harm others. I have been running from my exhusband for five years; and only in the last year has the court system finally started calling him violent and dangerous; and only after completely disabling me --- If this guy has never been in prison before for domestic violence etc. then he will get one to five years; and probation, and will only do six to twelve months of that time behind bars... Anymore, unless they kill you -- its just a slap on the hand...

The thing that this story ignores is the fact that these types of crimes are increasing in frequency because the legislature continues to refuse to make domestic violence prevention a priority. The legislature refuses to provide the funding necessary to protect victims of domestic violence from being victimized over and over again.

It's too bad she wasn't armed! It's too bad that someone at the scene wasn't armed! It's unbelievable how many times this sort of garbage happens. I hope some judge has the good sense to refuse bail and I hope the trial judge throws the book at this loser. NO PLEA DEALING NON-SENSE!! There's no reason on earth why he ought to be out on the street among the rest of us.

U.S. prisons are full beyond their capacity because they are filled with non-violent drug offenders. Until this country decides to deal with drug use, abuse and addiction as a health and social issue, rather than a criminal one, violent a-holes like the one in this story will continue to get out early or get no jail time at all because there is no room for them in the prisons. We need to have mandatory minimum sentencing for violent offenders and we need to have a "grown up" policy for non-violent drug users.

How is it that women are so desparate that they pair up with losers like this? How is it that these violent creeps are released having served minimum time to re-offend yet again? Ladies, if you are going to allow yourselves to enter an inherently bad situation, get a gun and learn how to use it.

Yes he is criminal and sick. I am in no way suggesting she is at fault her...but

Perhaps we can discuss the millions of women who use Restraining orders to simply get custody of their children. They abuse the DV laws in place...using them as a "sword to punish rather than a shield to protect"

Women are also guilty of abuse against men 42% of the time(emotional, mental and physical). They just dont get reported.

the Family Law system is so slanted against men...
it allows "fear" rather than evidence to convict men. It allows women to control the kids and alienate the fathers. It is an unfair and unjust system. Lawyers profit. Fathers are victimized. Women get the kids, a monthly check and the benefit of laws that support their selfish desires to divorce.
Very very Sad | 10:03 a.m. Sept. 16, 2009
Very sad but true. Our justice system allows these things to go on. I have so much that I could comment on this issue but the really sad part of the matter is that as many times as you file a report or have to go to the hospital for assult wounds its never enough for him to be put away. No one listens, its just an everyday case that they hear all the time. I have lost faith in our justice system for this very reason. I have had to deal with this for 12yrs and I feel for every woman and their children that have to live their life being scared. Even more that a judge will sign an order for the abuser to have temporary custody of the kids with a back ground of abuse. Its all very very sick. Someone needs to open their eyes to this and listen to the Pleas for Help!!!! The system needs to stop protecting the abuser.

This happened to me on the job. Used to work with the ex, he got fired, he hit me so hard it broke arteries and muscles and tendons in my leg.
I used to work for discover card and she is darn lucky she worked there. THey have impressive security and even more so since 911. Her employer saved her life. Discover Card is top notch in my books. THey just proved themselves again.

She can thank people like my ex wife who completley make these kinds of things up in order to gain control over the custody situation in a divorce. People who play victums when in fact they are not, in a sense "cry wolf" for those who sincerely and desperately need help. Victum's advocate also need to use some common sense out there and not just soak up anything and everything the suppossed victuym claims. They can fuel the pseudo victum to carry on their bogus agenda to no end....

To Hank and 2nd Anonymous poster-the woman had a broken arm, bloody nose & bites on her buttocks! How can you deny there are real victims of domestic abuse? To Wooden Indian, predators such as this select women who don't feel good about themselves for whatever reason. The predator is attentive, loving&can be charming during the courtship phase so the woman doesn't see a darker side. They don't look like losers and by the time the woman realizes it, she's usually trapped and it is difficult to free herself from a complex situation. The predator knows all her secrets and desires&turns them against her, belittling her belief system, breaking down her moral standards & isolating her from friends&family. To Another Victim I am so sorry for what you've gone through which you in no way deserved. I was another victim too until I made a decision to stop living under the shadow of what my ex husband might do so I packed up and moved across the country. To this day he doesn't know where I am and I never looked back. Isn't as easy for women with kids, I know.
Dads Against Discrimination | 2:31 p.m. Sept. 16, 2009
DADS condemns all forms of domestic violence, but wants to publicize the fact that every responsible study shows that women commit at least equal violence against men. It perpetrates the adolescent-feminist chauvinist myth of all women as innocent victims, and men as animal brutes. It fosters the bias of courts against fatherhood, where mothers are awarded custody 75% of the time, and mothers are issued custody grabbing restraining orders like candy, effectively excluding fathers from the lives of their children. This type of rhetoric is thus a cause of the current Father absence and is the number one predictor of child delinquency, drug use, teen pregnancy, incarceration, and child suicide. These problems will never be solved until fathers are afforded the same "rights" as mother have in the family. The feminist driven one-sided domestic violence rhetoric, which is challenged in this section, is part of the problem, not part of the solution.

I feel bad for her, but why did she get out and run to work? She was in a car, might as well have driven to the police station.

People sometimes make poor decisions in an emergency. Raw emotion (fear) can lead to instinctive reactions and irrational behavior.

why didn't this woman have a firearm? one of the main reasons so many states have firearm carry laws is for situations like this.

this woman needs to get some firearms training and a concealed weapons permit. this wouldn't have gone down this way if she were prepared.

it is entirely the man's fault, but I bet the woman isn't comforted by that fact. but I bet a cap in the guy's leg would have comforted her. and then he would have left her alone then.

i'm sure there are some anti-gun advocates who will say it is a police matter, but do you have ANY idea how many women have gone to the police and been attacked afterwards?

I'm also trying to figure out how the guy tackled her twice. did the people interveneing just let him go? didn't someone hold him down for the police? pretty sad civilians...
