There was a vote? | 11:47 p.m. Sept. 15, 2009
Wow, I read the paper almost every day and I had no idea there was a vote. Nice marketing there.

So how do we go about measuring the number of people who decide not to go to the polls because they don't want to be treated like a criminal and forced to prove their identity just to cast a vote? I've identified myself at the polls every time I've ever voted--by telling the poll worker my name! By making me prove it, you're calling me a liar. Way to increase voter turnout!

Say, uncanny, I never used to lock my car. I grew up without seatbelts, car seats, and bike helmets. I remember walking on an airplane without TSA calling me a liar and making me do the flamingo dance to remove my shoes.
Sure, I'd like to just tell the election judge my name and grab a ballot.
But in these modern times groups like ACORN want to make voting here like it is in Chicago. You take precautions.
If showing ID offends you I'm not sure I want you to vote. After all, voting is our greatest right according to the citizenship test. (You are a citizen, aren't you?)
It's a small price.
