I thought this was foreshadowing Sunday's headline for the football game! Of course, the way the Utes played against San Jose, who knows?
Good headline | 1:42 a.m. Sept. 16, 2009
DN will be able to use this one again this weekend, but for the football teams!

I disagree with "Good headline." The Utes are going to crush the Oregon Ducks this weekend.

How do I know that? I watched the game between Oregon and BSU and the Ducks simply aren't that good. Utah 38 vs Oregon 14.

Looks like somebody's fan base can't get over their failure to live up to their "Quest" to attain all that the Utes have managed over these past 5 yrs. Boo hoo.

Utah just needs to control the clock and win the turnover battle. Not much is expected from our defensive backfield as the Ducks don't really throw the ball ball. Our front seven has been doing a decent job at shutting down the run. I see this as a very winnable game for Utah.

GO UTES!!!

You bring up a GREAT point. What HAS the U actually accomplished over the past 5 years, aside from 2004 and 2008? Let's take a look:

2008: 13-0
2007: 9-4
2006: 8-5
2005: 7-5
2004: 12-0

Total: 49-14 (.778)
Total from 2005-07: 24-14 (.632)

Two great years, sandwiching some decent but not earthshaking performances. So enjoy it while it lasts, my Ube friend. (Like a "zoob," including the myopic bubble, but wearing red and largely without the 30 years of REAL winning tradition.) You'll drop off again this year, too--as you already have.

Were I a Ute fan, I'd be worried sick about how your guys let mediocre USU and Spartan squads stay in the game. Oregon didn't show against Boise State, but Autzen Field's a much different place, and the Ducks WILL show up. The streak ends there at 16. Oregon 45, Utah 21. Headline recycled.

Ube, also beware of TCU, Air Force, UNLV, and BYU. Your team won't beat any of them with your San-Jose-State C-game, either.

Poor Ube.
Nice headline | 9:25 p.m. Sept. 16, 2009
Just plug in the blowout score on sunday morn. Utes lose 1st of many!
