Comments about ‘BYU football: Cougars get good news on injuries’

Florida State's Coach Bowden is a class act and one of the all-time great college football coaches. It is great opportunity for BYU and the MWC to prove themselves against a very highly respected football program.The fact that they are playing in Provo shows that BYU football has come a long way. BYU strengths should match up well against Florida State.

Classy is a great word. I notice BYU and Utah posters use this word a lot.

They use it alone, "Bobby B. is Classy".

They use it to patronize people, "Bobby B. is a class act".

When The team up north has a good win, BYU posters make "Classy" comments, and Utah posters thank them for being CLASSY, and giving classy comments. This appreciation of Utah poster is CLASSY in, an of itself.

When the team down south has a good win, Utah posters make classy comments, which is very, very classy. BYU fans thank Utah fans for their classy comments, being classy, which again, is very classy all the way around.

At the end of the day, CLASSY is . . . . well . . . . a classy word. It's classy to be classy.

I propose we continue to use the word classy as much as possible.

I propose we point out every player or coach, that we possibly can think of, and point out the fact that they are "A Class Act". This is the classy thing to do.

I hope those of you that read my post feel that I am being classy.

I would like to know more about the assistant head coach. It is obvious during games he is the man and Bowden is just along for the ride.

can any one explain to me why last game Toledo made comments about age he played a lot of soph's and freshmen and the Y was so much older and more mature this is why we got beat so bad. If they had won do you think he would have said we beat them because they are so much older then we are they could not keep up with use. just get tired of the same old classy(tounge in cheek)comments

Sure thing, Eugene. That was a classy thing to say. Thank you. I believe that Utah as well is Classy and has a great tradition this decade of classy players, fans and BCS wins. 2 for that matter. I want to call attention and thank them for their classy display on and off the field as the team in the MWC that has accomplished the most this decade. Thank you for being classy. BYU is not classy. They play weak teams like Florida St. and Toledo. Utah however plays top teams like Oregon and SJSU. SJSU had one of the best defenses in the country, that is why we had a hard time scoring.

BYU doesn't deserve its ranking. Maybe a top 25 team (until they lose this weekend). War Utes. War big tips for your Dominoes delivery driver. War the hard stuff at Lumpy's!

Concussions are dangerous, especially repeated concussions.

It's only football. I hope this young man's health is not jeopardized for a football game.

FSU coming to provo this week is a great opurtunity for the cougars to get a win against a good coach and a program with a storied history. Florida State has won a lot of games over the years and I don't care if this year is a down year for them or not. I have noticed over the years how traditionaly powerhouse teams like FSU get an automatic assumption of being good at the begining of the season. I have also noticed how quickly "The Machine" forgets a bad team or a bad season by one of these storied programs. It's good buisness to have FSU, OU, OS, UCLA etc....be good or thought of as being good.
That is why I don't care how good FSU is right now, a win by the cougars over them will go down in history as a win, no ands, ifs, or buts about it.
I wonder, Is Lavell and Bobby going to chat this week ? I sure hope so.

It just too bad no one will be watching the game on Versus due to the Direct TV conflict with the owners of Versus and has stopped airing the channel

Thanks for starting my day out with a laugh. Look at what a freshman QB did to their defense the week before.

I'm pretty hesitant to say BYU is a top 10 team, but since they're determined to do rankings this early in the season, who else are you going to put there? All they can do is rank them based on the evidence at hand, and thus far BYU is as deserving of their ranking as anybody else.

I think that it is good, no GREAT, to compliment the other team for their accomplishments, etc.. The rivalry between BYU, Utah, the other Utah schools and possibly Boise State is good and has its appointed time.
We should be clinging on to the positive limelight as long as we can and not try to diminish any of the others schools accomplishments. WE need to support the other teams in our conference, too. It is only right to do that within the state and the conference.
The negative comments should be reserved for the time when the two teams involved should be playing. Then it is, also, good to respect the other team for their accomplishments. This should be done but I understand the commitment that people have for their own team.
Right now, everybody should be on the bandwagon to support BYU in conquering one of the countries powerhouses in football. The win will have great benefit for BYU, the MWC, and Utah.
Let's show our pride in BYU and for the MWC. Go Cougars!!!!

So what do you call Oklahoma? I suppose in your ute mind, they are a weak team as well.... I suppose they only let "weak" teams play for national championships. So if your definition of "weak" is a national championship contender, than yes BYU plays a lot of "weak" teams.
