"turned out to be more conservative than a lot of us expected him to be," Waddoups said…

No one expects him, for example, to carry legislation that would have extended benefits to gay couples, as Bell had done.”

Oh boy, here we go again.

When is the legislature going to realize that there are more than conservative folks in this state?

Each of us deserves euality.

If his fellow republican senators disliked him so much, how did Greg Bell ever get elected to be assistant majority whip? That makes no sense. This article (along with Jowers the pundit) is just trying to make a story our of nothing. Stuart Adams will be a great senator for the whole state - not just the conservatives.

Conservatives will accept Adams, only if he is like John Adams. Long live the republic!

I wonder how long it will be before Mr. Adams tries to pass legislation that will benefit his personal land acquisition and development company. If this guy is what being conservative is about, I want no part of it. Here we have another greedy self-centered politician to add to the likings of the ultra right winged republicans.

Watch for him to support more development in Davis County with his cohorts in crime... Kevin Garn being one of them, another greedy (yet successful) businessman turned politician...Just think off all of the land development in Layton at the moment, who has it centered around? Businesses owned by Adams and Garn!! Its outrageous.

If all you can do is criticize elected officials, then why don't you consider running yourself? It's not easy. But you can file and run a campaign. They did. And as far as land development goes, would you bar land-owners or businessmen from running for office? If so, that would eliminate a whole lot of good people. And why is it that property rights are now passe? Why shouldn't the free market and capitalistic system allow land owners who take risks to benefit so long as the develpment is subject to reasonable zoning and planning? I think jealosy is behind a lot of the animus here.

Proof again that Burbank and Jowers know nothing.

So, elect legislators that will represent *your* interests. Legislators tend to represent the interests of those who elect them. Perhaps you might ask yourself why liberal legislators tend to ignore the interests of conservatives in their districts and that's OK in your view. It works both ways, you know.

Anti-Gay. That is all.

It is amazing how Utah politicians resemble the caricatures that are drawn of them. They just reload.
