Tired bottom

The event was ok. They went over by more than a hour, 2.5 hours+. Not all rose to there feet as you wrote. Many were tired of hearing the same lines over and over again. He is an energetic man but endeavored to outlast many who were less than enamored by his style. The two musical performers were one too many. The version of the wonderful song "Amazing Grace" was slaughtered and drawn out. The wooden benches already hard got harder and harder until people were forced to leave before the ending song and prayer.

at least you have a butt to get tired!! quit complaining. life is tough sometimes so just deal with a little inconvenience.

I attended the one held at the Salt Palace on Saturtday and loved ever minute. I would have loved for it to have gone over by an hour. A man with no arms or legs went back and forth on his bottom on a wooden table with a great big smile on his face. "For the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes–so their eyes cannot see,and their ears cannot hear, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me and let me heal them". Acts 28:27

The event was awesome! Nick is awesome! The nice ladies which showed us to some available seats were awesome! Thank you Elder Holland for opening up your church home to your neighbors :)

Tired bottom...you really missed the point. Maybe one day you will remember this man with no arms and legs, who gave up his time for three days to show us that you can go on even through hard times, more importantly with disabilities.

There too

Actually, I would have to agree with TB on the singing part. I came to hear Nick speak, and we sang for an hour... much too long. A half hour would have been MORE than plenty.

Michelle

Amen Morgan...The Music was Amazing!!!!! Just like the actual words of Amazing Grace...Christ and his Grace are simply amazing. A free gift from God Grace is amazing that saved a wretch like me...

That is too bad you didn't enjoy the music. There is nothing like worshipping the Lord through song. He loves it when we sing praise to Him. The music was amazing, brought me to tears! I don't think I have ever felt the Spirit more than I did that day!! And I am LDS. Thank you so much Nick for what you do, you truly are an inspiration! Come back and see us soon! We are here to worship the Lord, not Him worshipping us. How long did He suffer on the cross for us?! An hour of singing should have been nothing to you. It's not about trying to please you and make you feel good. You have a lot to learn my friend. It is all about Jesus Christ!!! Take up your cross and follow Him, not your own wants, needs and desires!!!

Morgen

Michelle, isn't it great that the Lord doesn't care how we sing a song! It is sweet music to His ears regardless! Also, I could listen to Nick all day long!! Yes Nick, come back and see us soon!!

As I was reading the comments.. "AMAZING GRACE" song started playing on my computer.. I couldn't help myself but to add my comment.. It's said how we have eyes but cannot see clearly, have ears but cannot hear.. Both Isaiah 6:9 "And He said, “Go, and tell this people
‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand;
Keep on seeing, but do not perceive."
and John 12:40 "He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, Lest they should see with their eyes, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.” DEAR BROTHER OR SISTER OR FRIEND, EVEN SO.. WHOEVER... PLEASE DONT MISS THE POINT OF NICK'S MESSAGE... IT IS HOPE AND SALVATION!! Maybe you should try it!! THUMBS UP FOR YOU NICK... BUT EVEN SO.. TO THE MESSAGE OF HOPE YOU CARRY ON TO THE LOST!!!

It is amazing what LDS members can do when they put forth their trust in the Lord. Great job Brother Vujicic.

Anonymous, the way you write sounds more like you want people to believe your LDS so they will think something great of it. But the way you write is more evangelical. Not that it matters. I'm sure there was a positive spirit felt with the sincerity of those attending. I just don't like the Us/Them tone that can easily surface from such a meeting. Hopefully like what I read in the article above we don't resort to defense/offense rather respect for each other's different views and know that God judges the heart.

"Its amazing what LDS members can do... " Not sure what that implies but hopefully those who don't really understand the LDS members like they think can come to be less critical. We need less criticism of Mormons in our State. Hopefully that can come from all those professing Christ as well those who just desire peace through respect despite their faith or lack of.

Hopefully now, Sacrament Meeting, lasting only 70 minutes from top to bottom, will be more "enjoyable, less tiring and more comfortable to somebody's bottom" while he/she sits on the hard pew. Hopefully also, the singing of hymns will not seem as such a tedious burden and folks will take to singing from the heart. Above all, if the message of Jesus Christ made it to the listeners' hearts, I pray that being able to partake of the Sacrament will mean something special to those attending Church. I've seen way too many Mormons present on Sunday with their hearts far from the Sacrament table. It is a tragedy. It looks like we do need reminders like Nick to bring us to our senses.

Bobp

When sacrament meeting get long and "draggy" I simply have a nap. I do try not to snore in meetings.

I would like to have been there, and I doubt if I would have been bored.

JD, I guess you could say born again Mormon!! Regardless of my back ground, the message Nick brought was missed by some. I can only speak for myself and say that I am thankful that He has not blinded my eyes or hardened my heart! It has taken me some time to come to know this, but I love the Lord and know Him personally. It makes me sad that something as foolish as complaining about wooden benches, which by the way are in the LDS church can blind someone to not hearing a beautiful message. Tired bottom, you really missed out!!

I enjoyed this whole experience very much. I am a Mormon and was invited to attend by a close friend, who is part of a Baptist congregation. I was very touched by the words of Nick and the music was wonderful but what I loved the most was looking out over this group of people and seeing that we all love our Savior...regardless of the definition of that Savior or our differences of ritual...and we were all there to hear of his influence on the life of one of our brothers. We are all brothers and sisters after all and I, for one, am always happy when the gap that separates us is breached just a little by something wonderful like this.

Isaac David

God is a good who lets things come to play at just the appointed time without any question markks attached... He does all His things in just special ways that no human can comprehension but only submit to His divine will. He is showing that wonder in Nick, which His light is shining through that the see it and Glorify God Almighty for is mighty deeds in the life of Ordinary mortal men that so many feels nothing could come out from... He is a great God, Can someone who knows and believes SHout a tunderous HalleluJah? He is worthy of it

Bonnie

Wow!!!! I LOVED hearing Nick, I adore him. I'm so grateful that he has stood as a representative for living fully without fear. He said "I'll go" and he lives for God with all of his heart and life and it touches my heart - has changed my life. I am so grateful for our God who makes this life amazing no matter what the circumstances when we turn it over to Him. So grateful for Christ and His hand outstretched to each of us. Wow.

Elga

Sure that this little man is a big one...

Veronica

It takes a bold man, filled with the glory and spirit of God to do that which Nick is doing. The smile on his face captivates the soul. That smile in itself, speaks of the personality of Christ, which is LOVE. It is evident that God is with this man. GOD BLESS HIM.
