thank you Sister Dalton

IDA

This is right on Sister Dalton. This would greatly help our socetiy and our world. If all our leadres are and were upright rightoeus men,or women. Weather they be church, or world leaders.I commend you for your call to Moral Purity!!!!

Karl

I am soo impressed with President Dalton's talk at the CES Fireside on Sunday about the importance of Virtue, chastity and the effects that it has both on men and women, also on how virture is a source of power in the priesthood, righteous decision making, an entitlement to revelation by the Holy Ghost and how what our country need most now is not a social reform, but a moral reform. It is soo true, how many broken homes could be mended or prevented by a call to chastity? how many unborn children could be saved from death and raised in good homes through virtue? How healthy could our country be physically if more virtue and chasitity was practice? If there is one thing that is missing from Obama's long list of change, it is a return to Virtue, he should add "America's return to Virtue" on the top!!!

Benjamin Lantz

This was a fireside well worth going to. Easily one of the most best, most needed talks directed at young adults I had heard in quite some time. Thank you Sister Dalton and the CES as a whole.

Unrealistic.

Marie

To Ernest, I will say : "Yes you can".

John Pack Lambert

This was a much needed talk on the power of purity, on the need to focus on what matters most, and related subjects.
I have realized that there are many things I need to change.

Haleigh Van Eerden

I was at this fireside, and t was amazing! It is not unrealistic Ernest. Every person just needs to look at their own life and find the way that they can make this return. It is always possible.

My2Cents

This is a lofty goal, but for the vast majority of us, this is unrealistic.

John Pack Lambert

This was a great talk and made my think long and hard about thing I may have done (or didn't) do that caused the break-up of my first marriage. We all can do better in our marriages and relationships.

Re: JPL

Can we hear your testimony just one more time Please, oh please.

Yes, I'm a Realist

I thought the talk was very unhelpful, naive and VERY unrealistic. Utah has huge problems in teen pregnancy and pornography addiction. Her talk painted a picture that these problems do not exist in the Church.

RE: My2Cents | 2:05 p.m.

OUR Goals need to be lofty.

That's how you reach the highest heights.

What good has comes from giving up before you try?

This is exactly why Utah leads the nation in anti-depressant use. Unrealistic, unattainable goals and the pressure to be something that most people in the real world can't. I feel sorry for most women in the Church. They are struggling to do the best that they can under very difficult circumstances. Talks like this just make them feel more inadequate.

This is exactly why there is such a high suicide rate among the youth of the Church and why there is such a high anti-depressant use among LDS women. This talk didn't talk about solutions, it just added more unrealistic expectations and pressure to our youth and the women of the Church.

John Pack Lambert

"No success in life can compensate for failure in the home".

I now know, too late, the consequences and meaning of this. Marriage is the most important and sacred thing in this world. I blew it.

a woman

If talks like this makes a woman feel inadequate, then she has not built a 2-Way relationship with her Heavenly Father. Who cares what anyone says. Read the scriptures, learn to pray sincerely and mightily, draw close to the author of Truth, and don't try to run faster than you can. And as the BoM reads, cloak yourself in robe of charity. Stop looking to your neighbor for an example when you have Christ.

"Unrealistic?" Are you kidding me? Have a little self control . . . or choose not to, but don't criticize those who give inspired counsel on how to avoid all the heartbreak inherent in our amoral society. Look at the people who live by Sister Dalton's counsel, and then look at those who don't. You'll see which path is the harder, sadder one to walk.

NJP

Unrealistic?? Is pornography, filth, degradation, and immorality realistic?? You have got to be kidding. Talks like Sister Dalton's should be heard and heard and heard.

For those who have already blown it, there is repentance. It is not too late. That is what the Lord's mercy is all about. Don't be cynical, be humble and get back on track. Peace of mind, body and soul awaits.
