a class act..!
Stockton is the man! On and off the court.
An amazing player. An amazing citizen.
He is a very good bball player.
But he is much better person.
Hats off to Stockton.
Why oh why oh why can't there be 100 more NBA players like John Stockton. He is the epitome of grace and goodness of what a "professional" athlete should be.
We love you Stockton! Thanks for all the great memories.
How do you know how good of a person he is? He is a VERY private person. He was a killer basketball player and every bit as competitive as Jordan, just not as obviously. We have little idea what kind of person he is.
private or not, he was an excellent player and always displayed good sportsmanship. What else do you need? Give him his due.
My favorite player to watch ever.
I thought Stockton and Sloan gave great speeches, as well as Robinson. Jordan could have shown a little graciousness and humility, but then he didn't show that as a player, which he was arguably the greatest.
Great speeches by Stockton and Sloan but disappointed in Jordan. He put down about every person along the way, at least that is the way it came across. Be a little thankful.....
This is the greatest class every inducted into the hall of fame!
Stock & Malone were the closest thing the jazz ever will have to a championship..... Unless you count Celtic Pride?
Stockton...Congratulations, he is incredible! I watched the draft in 1984 in the old Salt Palace...manny booed but over the years were silenced!
Little John and Jerry are two of the greatest! Congrats & thanks for all of the good times. You helped make the Utah Jazz significant in the sports world.
Dear Better Person: If you watched the broadcast today and saw how incredible John was about his wife, Nada, and each of his children, not to mention how highly and honorably he spoke of his parents and others, and after 20 years, I would dare say he is a great person...has integrity, loves and respects his family, his coach and others. He is an amazing human being and and was such a joy for us to watch for all those year.
As I was watching the HOF ceremony tonight...I was very touched by John, Jerry, David and Viv's very sweet and humble "Thank you" speeches. They all showed such class and grace in the way they talked about their families, friends, coahes and teamates. I was so disgusted by Michael... Yes he is probably the best to play the game...but have some class with that big fat ego you carry around on your shoulder. I was hoping for so much more from him...thinking he may finally be really humble and show some heart. Again his arrogance comes steamrolling through and I'm bitterly disapointed. He may have 6 rings but he will never have what the others have and that is RESPECT. There isn't enough room in his world for that with the size of his ego!!!
Born and raised in Chicago, I love the Bulls and Michael Jordan. But I have to say, I admire Sloan and Stockton and what they did with the Jazz. They are two awesome people, not just on the court - but in real life as well. Conratulations to them - they deserve it this as much as anyone else on that stand!
Very disapointed in Jordan's speech. It was a big "look at me, I'm great and you're not" kind of speech.
The guy isn't very graceful in retirement and I thought he embarrassed himself.
But no writer will have enough courage to say it.
Nobody will ever be able to fill the shoes of John Stockton as a player. He was always very humble and he didn't play dirty. He had respect for the game. Stockton really deserves to be in the Hall of Fame as well as the man who coached him..Congrats to both Stockton and Sloan!!!
