Why are those men holding hands? Has the Deseret News gone liberal?

Gayle R. You have no sense of decency or patriotism and your mind is suffering from decay. these men are mourning during what should be a National
Day of Moourning for the wounded and dead in the 9/11 attack on America by foreign hostiles.

Read about it Gayle R. Bring yourself up to date and get a real life.
Wrong Use of Commemorate | 6:12 a.m. Sept. 12, 2009
This drives me crazy, and the Deseret News headline writers have done it before. Commemorate is a word that connotes a positive recolleciton of something. You commemorate (like commend, get it?) July 4th, or the victory at Yorktown by the American Revolutionaries. Instead, you Memorialize (call to memory) something more somber and reflective, like the attack at Pearl Harbor. I would think that a professional working at a publication like the D. News would understand those word differences???
